I want to farm Ash systems but people in general avoid defection

So what ? 😛 You can still do them.

I personnaly recommend Yursa on Neptune. Just do the mission until the first manic spawn (around 5 minutes), then leave. For me, it's the fastest and easyest way to do it.

If you don't mind running Ophelia on Uranus for 15 minutes at the very least, that is another way to do it. That node spawns manics at around that time and people are always there to try to farm Condition Overload and materials

I have done the first defection mission. That is on Phobos.

I did it alone with Oberon and since it is lower level enemy i was doing it fast and did get all the part while i was trying to get harrow part too. I think it was the 4th run that manic appeared.

Shout in recruit "LF harrow systems farm". People who need to complete crafting Harrow will pm you for defection run. Take advantage of this !

Edit : Harrow systems drop from rotation B and C, which means it requires 6 or 8 Kavor rescues.

Manic farming is easier solo: Dark Sector defection on Yursa, Neptune which has the quickest Manic spawn rate at 5 minutes, draw out the first two rescue sets to 5 minutes (don't hit the rush panel, ect), kill the manic, extract, repeat.

It’s definitely soloable, just go in there by yourself. The key is you only need to evacuate one round of survivors. Then ignore the rest, Find a corner of the map, and camp until the manic come out.

Thats how how I did it about 3 months ago, and I hope the game still works like that now

I spend yesterday farming Ash parts for systems (need it for smoke ephemera).

And indeed Yursa solo is the easiest way. Just equip a good room sweeping weapon to clean the infested hordes and do 2 extractions (without activating the console).

After the 2nd extraction wait 1mn in a narrow space (some close room or corridor) to avoid that the manic go away and kill him.

Repeat until the Rngesus will be generous to you. 🙂

I finally got the systems after average 25 runs (and have 2 chassis and 2 neuroptics).

Good luck !

The Manic will only spawn if the level's alarm is active, including missions where the alarm is active from the start (such as Excavation and Survival), and will announce its presence with loud, howling laughter.

  1. A Manic is guaranteed to spawn after a certain number of minutes in Defection depending on the location.
    • Memphis on Phobos has a Manic spawn timer of 10-12 minutes after opening the door to the first Med Booster.
    • Caracol on Saturn has a Manic spawn timer of 6-8 minutes after opening the door to the first Med Booster.
    • Yursa on Neptune has a Manic spawn timer of 5-6 minutes after opening the door to the first Med Booster.
    • Multiple Manics can spawn in a single Defection mission.
    • The Lotus will comment on the Manic's presence, indicating it has come to kill the survivors.
    • Manics will fight against, and can be killed by, the Infested.
  2. After completing the A Man of Few Words quest there is a high chance of a Manic spawning when helping Clem on Uranus. However, this is not guaranteed.
  3. There is a possibility for a Manic to spawn after 14 to 16 minutes in any Grineer Survival mission, or after about 5 Excavators in any Grineer Excavation mission. This is not guaranteed.
