I am a Veteran player and supported the game since 2013. Ive witnessed many ups and downs in Warframe but still choose to support the game i loved, with prime accesses etc. But this one problem is just getting out of hand since the beginning called: Host Migration. Especially in this new game mode they invented. I approx. got around 100+ host migrations so i cant even complete a mission at all. And thats not even a recent problem. This host migration bug existed since years ! And they didnt do a damn thing about it and i am also very sure that they did not plan any changes. I had many friends who also loved and supported warframe since day 1 but everyone of them left because of this exact reason. Wow DE just wow... a multi million dollar company who says that they just cant afford to upgrade their peertopeer-network thats just sad. Sorry you just lost another player ...and many more will leave until you fix this major issue

It's a peer to peer system so if the host leaves of course you need to migrate hosting to someone else. What did you expect?

Changing to dedicated servers would take a lot of time and just wouldnt be worth it.

If you have friends that do missions with you host migrations cant really be a problem since one of you is host anyway so at that point it's the connection of one of you.

The main problem is that, just because you have to swap hosts, does that really mean they can't transfer the gamestate? It doesn't need to wipe the map clean. Plus it's just as likely to migrate host as it is to disband the squad outright. It's very frustrating in ESO to get a host migration mid wave and lose all my spores and my entire squad and desperately have to rebuild spores with all that survivability I didn't put on her since she's built to work with a squad. It'd be nice if it at least carried over my spores, rather than respawn all enemies in new locations, potentially meaning what may have been a safe spot is now flooded with enemies.

While I'm not saying there are *not* some host migration issues with the new game mode (I've had a couple and so did a clan mate, we both lost our loot too), it's nowhere near as bad as you're suggesting for most people so you could argue that 'some' of the connection issues are actually on your end...

But I thought you left already o.o
Have a hard "dejavu"-feeling about the content of this thread ^^' Almost like you posted it in your other thread  word for word (you know..the one you made a few minutes before this one)

Sad to see a player go...but who knows how often you are gonna 'leave' and make another thread about this :3
Oh well,  I hope you enjoy the other games out there 🙂
Cheers,
Fabpsi~

Well you see: this time it's in the feedback category instead of GD. What they forgot to do is to actually write up usable feedback instead of the ranty gibberish we got.

Ohhoho, its a curve ball baby ... lets see, what did I expect.

-Players need to be educated about the basic networking You provide a game featuring client to client? fine, until it is easy to set up, working fine and people do understand what to do.

-you -as game dev- need to make sure your players reallize what is going on. A) who is the host B) constant network status and speef shows C) Leaving the game -on choice or by bad network need to be communicated in game.

Since the game released none of the above got implemented. I did figure out how to set up Nat and port and network because I care about this, Im an IT guy. Even some of my hardcore friends when I ask them did you set this and that...? they say no they dont bother about it.

The easiest to  show is some huge red text when you leave and youre the host, when the network speed is high or there were packets loss, you might loose the connection, etc. None of the hese got inplemented, all honest AAA games show some icons on UI for bad connection for example.

So I completely understand op, no matter how much we old players asking BASIC THINGS from dev, all they do is just care about new frames and guns to be thrown at the gamers, only fixing the recent critical issues.

You can already tell who is the host of a party and you can physically see them leaving either by moving to extraction in regular missions or by not taking the next conduit in ESO.
