Multiple Umbra Forma

So, I was looking around at different builds for different frames and I stumbled upon this Excalibur build. As you can see, there are two Umbra Forma used for the vitality and intensify mods. Did I miss something? I thought we could only get a single umbra forma from NW1?

No. That's a build on Excalibur Umbra (see the name at the top). The umbra version of Excalibur that you get from The Sacrifice Quest, comes with umbra polarities on it already. In fact, that person removed one of the umbra polarities since standard excalibur umbra comes with three umbra polarities.

and this is excal umbra, he comes with 3 umbra slots, for obvious reasons

 

edit: just saw that he uses 3 umbra mods and only 2 polarities.....this build maker has no idea what he does

Excalibur Umbra =/= Excalibur!

Excalibur Umbra comes with 3 innate Umbra polarities:

Damn... If you are gonna butch him up like that do it on regular excal rather than umbra... Sad sight to see... There's a reason he came with his 3 umbra polarities for his 3 umbra mods...

there's really not that many situations where a Warframe highly benefits from 3/3 Umbral Mods and would want to Equip them. so many Warframes are going to only care about 2/3 and even with infinite Mod Points, adding the third just doesn't give them much that's useful compared to the Mod Slot you're totally losing.

This is why builds using the Umbra forma shouldn't be called [Warframe] Umbra or Umbral, because it's a very distinct difference. It's still the same warframe, just that the umbra forma is used on it.

this situation, the one talked about, literally uses 3 umbra forma.

on excal it is useful, as it buffs the specter and works amazingly wll with chromatic blade as Power Drift and Umbra Intensify with 3 mods is enough to reach 180%

yes, it goes well with Excalibur.
