Host migration

I've been playing for close to 1000 hours now. At least according to steam.

This problem has been around since I started playing. Nothing has been done to fix anything about it.

Is it really to hard for DE to have some of the data saved locally so you don't lose your rewards?

I don't believe for a second that it would be. They are just to lazy to fix what can be easily described as a game breaking "bug".

I don't care if host migration happens. I care about what I lose when it does happen.

It isn't like it's not a common thing to run into when playing this game. In fact it's very common. A daily occurrence.

If anything is going to turn me off from this game it's this. So many hours of progress lost because of host migration.

Just stick me in a new instance of the mission I'm being forced out of so I don't lose my rewards.

Talking with some programmers they tell me it's an issue with one of two things or both.

The server nodes are actual garbage or the people running them are children.

There should never be an instance in which a player must forfeit their rewards because the game refuses to create a new instance for the players and defaults to sending them to their orbiter.

Unless the server node crashes in which case refer to what I said earlier.

Host Migration happens, if either you or the Host loose connection. There is a reason its called Host Migration, not Instance- or Server Migration. If the Host disconnects, the server will try to put the rest of the squad back into the same instance, if possible. If you loose connection it will usually try to reconnect you and if that not possible put you as the lone host back into the mission. The only time you ever get send to your orbiter directly is, if either every try to reconnect you times out or your Internet connection gets severed for more then just a couple seconds.
If you've been in a mission and you've open relics or whatnot and get disconnected you may receive your loot via Inbox. I do not know if this is how it is, it is simply my observation. Also, this seems rather whiny, just to let you know.. there were times when it has been ALOT worse.

I get about 1 Host migration per 3 ish hours of play or so.. if it happens much more often that that to you, you may also check if your internet connection works fine in the first place.

If relics can be retrieved why can't anything else?

This has been an issue for a very long time and has no place in the game. They obviously can give your rewards if it happens. So why don't they? Not exactly sure how that's whiny but okay.

I get on average 2 host migrations a day. That is still far to much.

Everyone knows that they can fix it. They just aren't.

I agree. At this point it just hurts when you lose all rewards. It's no fun at all, and just tiring because it happens on a daily basis. No wonder everyone becomes a bite size player, because going longer is just a pure risk. Not because of the stability of the game but because if the host leaves, there's a high chance 2 of the other players lose everything.

I also hope they start to use the money I and others gave them to actually do something instead of pushing out cosmetics..

It's been like this for 5+ years ..

The game has definetely not been the same for 5+ years and is changing constantly. Connection errors are something that just happens every now and then and yes, i agree that it sucks if you loose your rewards, but there is no point in getting mad about it or blaming anyone for it. If you have host migrations happen everytime you try to play, i recommend tweaking your matchmaking settings a bit and maybe even opening some ports in your router, since the loss of connection could also be of some packages simply not arriving/sending out properly.

Because it deosn't keep track of the things you Loot. Relics are in a players Inventory, so im guessing that any changes to the ID of an item are saved immediately. Resources are added, while Relics are transmuted into a different item. It may sound the same, but it is very different.
A bad example: Groceries are added from the store(mission) to your fridge(inventory) once you get home(extraction), but you transmute or change things that are in your fridge, to make something that is completely different then the thing you started with. It keeps track of everything that gets put in or taken out of your fridge, but deos not know of anything that you may drop by accident along the way.

The reason anyone gets mad is because it's fixable but DE won't do it. I really don't understand how you can even try to defend them for keeping a system from us that the players can make full use of everyday. If anything in the game can quite literally steal your time and effort away something needs to be done. There are tens of thousands of posts about this. If people would stop defending the terrible way the data is saved this problem would of been fixed by now.

You say that as if it were a fact. I don't think this is something they can actively fix, other then upgrading the Hardware of the Servers, but even then it would not be guarenteed to not happen anymore. I tend to play several hours at a time, spending between 20 and 60 minutes in a mission and barely ever get a Host migration and if, it tends to be right at the start , when trying to connect to the Host or the current Host extracts in which case i get reconnected to the squad with a new Host just fine. Im not defending DE for the sake of defending them, im saying that this has probably nothing to do with DE and more so with your connection/Internet/ISP's/Port settings. I am trying to help you fix whatever is causing the Issues for you, but getting even more upset about it won't help it.

How often do you play per day and for how long?
How often deos it happen per day on average?
When in the mission deos it happen most often?
Do you get a message of any kind after it happens?
Did you adjust your Warframe Matchmaking Settings?
Is your Internet Connection stable?
Deos it still happen even if you play Solo?
Deos it still happen even if you are Hosting?
Since when has this problem been occuring?
Deos it happen more often on Specific Mission types/tilesets?
