DE, please, I dread the thought of Dread

I started playing Warframe 4 years ago on and off. But even after all this time I still have not obtained a single Despair from the Stalker! 

I looked at the Wiki and it turns out that the drop rate of the Dread is around ~35% but the Hate and Despair has around ~5%. These drop rates change a little when it comes to the Shadow Stalker. I get that, in the early days, the Stalker's weapons were some of the best in the game but, at this point in time, they aren't really top tier anymore. They're not bad but I don't think the Hate and Despair should be put under such a low drop chance when the Dread's drop rate is 6 or 7 times greater. Not sure if anyone really cares or feels the same way as me but I just felt fed up with thinking, "Oh great, either nothing or a Dread is going to drop", BEFORE the Stalker even shows up. I just want a Despair to drop.

I feel your pain but let’s look at this from another angle.

Like you said, Hate and Despair aren’t that great. Without super specific builds they just won’t do much. Dread on the other hand is quite decent with its high slash dispo and high crit.

Now as a new player you probably have only rarely seen the stalker, if at all. Getting these trash-ish weapons first probably wouldn’t feel worth the effort of fighting an enemy 50 times more dangerous than anything else you’ve encountered. Dread serves as the ‘easy-to-use-but-hard-to-get’ weapon that a lot of players use for a long time. 

Or even if we balanced out the drop chance, there would probably be some frustration over finally running into stalker and getting your 37th Despair bp when you really want the dread.

There should be some kind of ‘after X failed attempts, automatically receive Y” but just boosting drop chances could make something else hard to get and continue the cycle.

That’s ridiculous luck right there! Despair was the first drop I’ve ever gotten from my first encounter with the stalker.

How many hours have you played? It took me a while to get Despair and also Hate. It’s just RNG thing. One will eventually get them all after encountering Stalker many times. It’s also better to join pub squads for higher chance of Stalker spawning I think.
