Play smarter not harder... a loadout for situations

Question

I have been playing for the past month, just got to Saturn. Normally I focus on brute force but i am noticing it becoming harder to maintain. I started to draft a weapon loadout for each type of enemy. I realized what I was reading was from 2015. Can you tell me with your experience if these still work and still are the best, I copied this from Fenrushak.

Impact: Corpus (Does better against Shields)
Puncture: Grineer (Penetrates armor better)
Slash: Infested (Good against the greater majority)

Fire: Infested, or Grineer (Grineer when paired with Corrosive)
Ice: Corpus (Good against Shields)
Electric: Corpus (Excels against Robotics)
Toxin: Corpus (Bypasses Shields entirely)

Corrosive: Infested and Grineer (Cuts armor)
Magnetic: Corpus (Very effective against Shields)
Viral: Grineer and Corpus (Fleshy)
Radiation: Grineer and Infested (Some armor types)
Gas: Infested (VERY GOOD) and Corpus (with high Status chance it creates a Toxic AOE that bypass shields)
Blast: Grineer (Rollers only) and Infested (Higher Tiered Infestation like MOAs/Ancients)

Corrosive is great in the void because so many of the void are Grineer. Viral is good against any faction, but less toward the Infested.

*Side Note* Anyone know a good place to find Deep Freeze? I want to give my pistol blast damage

Your loadouts will change dramatically as you progress through the game. If you’re on Saturn then yes, damage bonuses are fine to build for. As you get a bit later in the game, you might want to focus more on crits and status. The way that health and armor scales in warframe makes even some of the highest base damage weapons do very little damage against super heavy armor. Slash status effects in particular are extremely important in higher levels because it completely bypasses armor and shields. Combining slash and viral essentially makes slash twice as effective.

Other statuses like corrosive and gas are extremely effective as well, but you need to proc them fairly quickly. A beam weapon or fast rifle will do that just fine.

TL;DR: you can clear the star chart just fine with critical hits. Specific damage types and status effects only matter after that point.

Thank you, Im slow at clearing the map cause I am farming as I go along. But I'll just stop over thinking it till I get everything unlocked first

For the most part just run corrosive and Crit. Unless you are going 80+ all you need is Crit builds and you are fine. After that you will find status type makes a huge difference.

For clearing the star chart you will be jumping around all over the place and its just easier to have a hybrid build than a status focused one.

So I should focus on cits at this moment with corrosive Thank for the advice

As of my experience, that's not right. In late game you might fight against Infested Ancients more often than common infestoids, because that's how long-runs missions scale: higher-tiered enemies start appearing more than low-tiered.

Ancients have 75% radiation damage reduction, IIRC; Toxic Ancients provide immunity to Toxin/Gas damage around themselves. So, you'd better use Corrosive+Blast against Infested.

Actually, Corrosive+Blast is kinda universal combination for mid-tier missions, because of Armor strip + Crowd control, that are provided by these elements.

But yeah, in high levels you'll need to create your builds wisely, with max efficiency.
