844448
I know, this is probably an inane or insane idea but sometimes I just don't want to bring dragon keys or walk around looking for the alternate path to a locked room and we had this in kuva fortress assault where you bring a moltecoil so I wonder if we can have breach charge blueprint that you can use as some resource sink since it won't be cheap (We have these resource blueprints that need 25k on each resource to make one neurodes or orokin cell so why not have another one?) Of course, instead of simply melting the door, it does a massive explosion, a big and satisfying one but prepare to have enemies alerted instantly and be careful not to blow your teammates with it (either made as timed explosion or remote detonation) Or, we can make it as a modular charge, changing how it works. Hek, you can even make it as a cluster charge that go through doors and bomb everyone behind that door (Just don't use this on rescue mission) The parts will be separated into 3 or 4 section - Charge (Changes how the breach works, either blow the obstacle, melt it, freeze it before hitting it as it shatters, evaporate it, or anything you can think of) - Primer (Changes how to trigger the bomb, either as timed, remote triggered or motion triggered when an enemy walks in front of it) - Adhesive (Changes how to put the charge, either sticking it to something or just drop and go) - ??? (Adds additional effect in explosion, either having a firework party on detonation, ferrite shrapnel or confetti, it's up to your imagination) What do you guys think about this? aswitz87
On the one hand, sounds cool. On the other hand, not sure how well the engine will handle destructible environments (and how difficult it may be to implement them in already made areas, remember the kuva one was designed for the tile set).
(XBOX)The Neko Otaku
I like it as a gear item to use instead of ciphers in mission. Friend: ah the doors locked, i'll go hack the alarm Me: *with a breach charge* Doors open! Edited June 4, 2019 by (XB1)The Neko Otaku

Mez999
Sounds like a good idea to me. If the engine couldn’t handle it, could be almost like an EMP charge that “overloads” the door.

Dhrekr
Non-scripted environment damage is, as far as we have been told, extremely time-consuming, to the verge of impossible. As this would even be non-scripted damage (made by users whenever they want), I see almost no chance of it happening.

SgtHotPepper
Yeah the true issue is "Why i will bother to carry a hobbled dragon key when i can do big funny badaboom instead?". Personnally i prefer 1000 times your proposition but not sure that DE allow to pass over some of the key mecanics.

Oreades
I think it's one of those things that sounds great on paper Buuuuuut in practice ends up being and over complicated mechanic that DE dabbles in a little and then sorta forgets about. 1 hour ago, 844448 said: I guess that one room with cannon being conveniently facing the door? I don't see why it would be that door you can zip right past it by going up the wall in the conveyor room, parkour through the tube and then essentially drop right down on it. I was kinda thinking the door in that one console room with the four(?) terminals you needed to hack even tho even that door can be zipped past by going through a tube right above it.... hmmm On 2019-06-22 at 3:14 AM, Aldain said: Not gonna lie, there is a single door I'd love to blast the ever loving -clem- out of on Grineer Galleon spy missions (hopefully you know the one). I actually have no clue what door you're talking about, all of the Galleon spy vaults have really easy walk arounds for their doors. At least all the ones I can think of, so if you could be more specific?
