Clan Dojo and Barracks

Swazdo-Lah Fellow Tennos!

For some time now one thing about Clan Dojos that has been bugging me are the Barracks.

When built, the Barracks allow your Clan to sustain more members but for some reason the clan's Tier is tied to the Built Barracks and not the Member count in your clan, this frustrates me and pretty much sure it does to other clan Warlords too which would love leaving all the Barracks built at once so the clan can easily grow ove time and transition from a lower to higher tier on its own as the members count reaches a certain number, same goes for downgrading clan Tiers, we are forced to deconstruct the Barracks of that Tier in order to downgrade, not only leaving empty doorways but also forcing the Warlords or officers with the autonomy to change the Clan's tiers to keep track of the member count.

Should Clan tiers be associated to the built Barracks?

I want to see other Tenno's opinions on this!

Yes, they need to use something that is fixed for the research multipliers. Currently, you cannot change the clan tier while research is active. Imagine the same being applied to adding or removing members. I would find this far more frustrating than the current system.

If we could get another factor to multiply the research cost then maybe tiers shouldn’t be associated with the barracks. But as it stands, it should stay as is.

But you can apply the same restriction that prevents lowering/increasing wile having a Barracks of higher/lower tier to the Lower tier button its self and prevent you from changing the clan tier wile a research is on-going as the costs wont be refunded anyways.

We downgraded our clan due to the Hema gate.

We have a dojo that is asymmetrical cause we had to get rid of the moon barracks.

I would like it if we could rebuild the moon barracks but stay a mountain clan.

It is purely cause I want to keep the dojo symmetric.

Thats weird!

I always assumed your clan tier was tied to membership. So you can be a 1-person Mountain clan, as long as you have enough barracks? :suspicion:

Not that I'd want to, as I understand research costs increase as your tier increases...but its an interesting idea, once I'm done with my research...

Agree with OP that it would make far more sense to have clan tier tied to actual members.

My guess is that the clan rank based on Barracks thing is mostly for database ease. As in a clan wouldn't flutter between stages if the roster managers and recruiters were active. It also makes it so clan size and ranking is a deliberate choice. You can't accidentally go over the threshold and cause research costs to multiply. And then being locked in that excessive rank because someone started a research absentmindedly.

I would prefer if the system was more organic in that research costs would increase in subtle increments as membership increased, rather then in large multiplicative chunks. But I see the current system as the most stable. Ranking up and down is a deliberate choice and tied to an easy to understand system. It is unfortunate that these rooms can't be used for aesthetic reasons, but it's a small price to pay.
