Losing Weapon When Disarmed in ESO

Was playing Elite Sanctuary Onslaught and I only had one weapon equipped (Phantasma) and it became unequipped on round 2. I could not find the weapon so I went onto round 3 and at that point the game did not return my weapon nor did it spawn it somewhere on the round 3 map. The issue is that I became fully unarmed and could only use my abilities, which being a Trinity did not help me. I still received experience from teammates for my Phantasma which was also weird.
