Kavat starter kit, kavat genetic code

Question

So, I just purchased the Kavat starter kit (PC) which is supposed to include 10 Kavat genetic codes. When I go to the incubator -> kavat breeding there are check marks except for "collect kavat genetic codes" which claims I have 0/10. What am I doing wrong or not understanding? Kubrow breeding works fine.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Did you use the 10 codes you got from the starting kit to build the incubator upgrade?

Umm, I might have... Jees this game is complex sometimes.

Does this mean I have to scan viral kavats now? Where would you suggest I do that?

Sorry for the newbe questions, only MR10 at this point.

Thank you all for your answers. I honestly feel cheated since I assumed (yes I know) that "everything you need" actually meant "EVERYTHING you need". Guess I have to be more careful how I spend my plat in the future.

You can do that in the derelict.. which... coincidentally.... is what im doing now....

But heres the thing.... in Warframe you should never just be doing one thing... if you still need Corrupted Mods then you can look for those while you're scanning Kavats.

Limbo can do both those things Solo.... as soon as the mission starts just slide into the Rift and start looking for the Vault.... if you see a Kavat.... slide out of the rift and Banish it.... then slide back into the rift and activate Stasis.... Scan the Kavat then SHOOT IT RIGHT IN THE FACE !!!!! Then rinse and repeat.

I can solo vault runs because I already have an 1-2-1 Amp.... this is what I use to kill the Assassination Targets in Orokin Derelict Sabotage... the Dragon Keys don't affect my Spoiler Mode so they go down in 2 Shots if my Amp Crits.

The 10 Kavat Codes are included with the Starter Kit to get the incubator segment built. Not sure about the Kubrow Starting Kit, or if there is one. Anyways, now you need to scan Kavats.

It gave you everything you needed to get the incubator segment built. Which itself is an annoyance.

The grind to get a Kavat is much easier now than before, and with the incubator segment out of the way here’s a mini guide.

1. Get a Derelict Key. You want either Exterminate (easy Kavats + more Kavats) or Capture (less Kavats but Corrupted mods as well.)

2. Bring a Synthesis Scanner with the Sol-Battery Widget. Lots of Kavats to scan, you’ll want a scanner with infinite charges. Regular scanners can do, I think.

3. Bring a Warframe with a stun ability. Equinox’s sleep is good for CCing Kavats for easy scanning, as is Rhino’s stomp, but an Excalibur with Vitality, Steel Fiber, Stretch and Continuity can easily solo a Derelict and also stun Kavats with Radial Blind. I am a bit biased though.

4. Every time you walk into a new room in the Derelict, pull out your Synthesis Scanners. Kavats are normally invisible, unless engaged in combat. A scanner can reveal them and because you can now see them, you can scan them.

5. (Optional.) Craft and bring a full set of Dragon Keys. A corrupted mod / Orokin vault / dragon key guide has more details.

That should cover everything.

Yeah, thanks again. No question that the fault is mine, should have done my research... I'm sure it will be useful in the future, just wouldn't have spent the plat at this stage had I known in advance. Not that I mind supporting a great game.

In any case, enjoy a great game. I know that I will.
