I just wanted to rename the ranks in my clan. So yeah, I'd like an explanation on that one DE

Probably to prevent any confusion by players mistaking non-DE users as admins... if a new player joined the clan and saw a user with an 'admin' rank they may wrongfully think that player is an actual administrator of the game... same reason why you cannot have 'admin' or 'administrator' in your username.

when chat filter is so infamous people forgot that "admin", "moderator" and "gm" are names/ranks reserved for developers/employees. smh

That's not in anyway logical. You could name ranks a myriad of different names to mimic that like Guide of the Lotus, (I haven't tested that one but you get the idea.)

 

I just think they are using the same tangled logic the forum mods use. ;)

presumably, things like that are also blacklisted for similar reasons.

pretty standard Cyber Security mantra, that you don't allow unauthorized users to have access to things they should not, and don't allow impersonation of those that are, either.

Having a clan rank that is "admin" is not a security threat to the game. I think the ability to use [DE] is kind of telling that that wasn't why they did it. It wouldn't be impersonating them because one can in fact be an admin of a clan.

 

That's just nonsense, or at the very least, you are going to dislocate your arm trying to reach that far.
