Returning player, LF weapon/amp suggestions

So yeah, Hi and stuff.

I went on a break shortly after The War Within came out, and have just returned some time ago.

Back then, I ran most missions with a Vaykor Hek, Hikou Prime and Tipedo, but have been told by some clan buddies that those weren't that useful anymore. 
Also, Amps. I've started the grind through Cetus and Fortuna, what should I go for?

 

So, what's the current meta? What are weapons you'd recommend I try? I'll gladly take vaulted suggestions too, I have a lot of vaulted relics laying around.

 

Inb4 "Use what you consider fun": I have a bunch of weapons I use because I enjoy them, but I'd also like to have a setup for just murdering discovering higher level enemies.

It heavily depends on what mission you are running.
For the certain fight at night on the plains, I suggest a heavy crit sniper rifle, like the Vectis Prime, Rubico Prime and Lanka.

For running random missions, ANY weapon is meta.

For running Sanctuary Elite Onslaught, ANY weapon is meta, since you will be using your Warframes abilities mostly (i.e. Saryn Mains will bomb everything anyways)

The Big Bossfights on the Vallis can be done with similar Equipment as the Plains bosses, although it wouldnt hurt tanking up with a warframe. By a lot.

To sum it up, most of the "Meta" is now dominated by Warframe abilities, especially Damage ones. So as you said, take any gun you like, since Warframes Meta has shifted towards DPS warframes. But like, thats just my opinion or smth.

As Amps go, I suggest doing the following setup:
 

Any prism, Shraksun Scaffold(Cetus) and Certus Brace(Fortuna)

and yes, the Prism doesnt matter when it comes to meta. You'll be using the Shraksun Mode 90% of the time when its relevant.
I personally went with the Shwaak Prism, because I like the Arca Plasmor-like shots.

For pure DPS, a crit sniper like Rubico Prime is top tier. For crowd killing primaries, shotguns are good, especially Arca Plasmor. Amprex and Ignis are alot of people's favorites, partially because they do alot of damage without needing to aim. Personally I'd recommend Corinth. Fulmin is also very new but very good, with a silenced shotgun mode and auto rifle mode.

For secondaries, the best thing you can get is a kitgun. Catchmoon is generally the best, but all of them are very good, especially with rivens.

For melee, I'd recommend heavy blades for crowd clearing, and redeemer prime if you want to do the maximum possible damage to one target at a time. Zaws are also very good, but good zaw builds are another topic entirely. I'd recommend getting plague event parts for them, and luckily Plaguestar is actually coming around some time next week.

I don't know about Tippy Toe and Hikou but Vaykor Hek is still pretty strong if you have the Primed Shotgun Mods.... that being said.... for consistency you'l definitely want a riven for it...

Depends where and on what you plan on using the Amp for...

For Eidolon Hunts the Prism doesn't matter.... just pair the Shraksun Scaffold with either the Lohrin/Certus Brace and shoot at the Eidolons at Point Blank Range...

For everything else you can build whatever your resources allow....

Tigris Prime goes without saying.... its crazy strong if you have all the Status Mods...

Fortuna's Kritguns are also really good.... I recommend the Rattleguts Chamber with the Splat Loader.

The Lanka for those pesky enemies that are immune to Status effects. 

Redeemer Prime with all the Status Mods and Condition Overload...

The Amprex.... basically an Ignis Wraith that Crits....

Gram Prime.... basically a direct upgrade to Gallatine Prime but WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY slower.

Atterax with Meme Strike....

Its the most popular.... its most definitely not the best.... lol.... it literally uses one the worst Physical and Elemental damage Types at base.... Heat and Impact...
