(XBOX)Aress
So I have a gram riven with ( 170.6 cc 310 melee dmg, and -74 status duration, I was told that would hurt a lil, but not a lot since my other stats are very high? Is that true and if not can you explain on how that hurts my weapon / riven ??
0 DeadlySurgeon
It'll hurt by deeply cutting into the duration of Slash procs, which can be a big source of damage, as well as diminishing the overall effectiveness of a Condition Overload build because you won't get the bonus damage for very long (since the procs will expire quickly). With all of that said, you can still very much use that Riven and a Blood Rush build to completely flatten basically anything that gets into melee range.
0 taiiat
yeah you'll lose a lot from Status as any Slash Status will deal massively less Damage, and whatever else you apply will be harder to keep up consistently for Condition Overload to take from it. but, it'll still do a lot more Damage than normal with that Riven, it's just that the Damage you deal could be somewhat inconsistent and sometimes deleting things while other times not so much.

What if I don’t use condition overload? Will it still hurt

0 DeadlySurgeon
You'd be much better off not using CO, because of the points I mentioned. In a crit build, the negative would mean that any status procs you get will be shortened, (with the exception of Corrosive, which is infinite), but the tradeoff is massively increased damage. In other words, you'll hit anything without armor like a runaway truck, but one of your main advantages against armored enemies (Slash procs) will be lessened, so you might have to mod accordingly. Yeah like with my one build I have 1.9k corrosive and drifting contact etc, that’s with CP, but with Valkyr and steel charge it’s 2.1k corrosive so it should be really good but just off a lilttle

Will it still hurt it'll always hurt some. but there isn't any reason to not use Condition Overload. you'd still use it anyways, as Condition Overload would still be significantly higher average Damage. just less consistent than usual. Status Effects are useful with or without Condition Overload. there's no "bypass the negative". if you don't use Condition Overload you could say it will hurt you more, since you won't be able to use Condition Overload at all, since it isn't Equipped.
