No alert when the host is going to extract and extraction timer doesn't start after host leaves

I was farming for relics in the void survival T2 and the host leaves just after the 20 minute mark.  Thing is, I only got a brief flash of the "get to extraction" message and it disappeared immediately.  I only realize he left when I became the new host.  Me and another player go to extraction after that.  The timer never appears.  We left after a bit like normal, but it was still pretty weird.
