Warframe rushing addiction....

Question

For some reason everytime I make a new frame and I have 50 plat I just can't wait and HAVE to rush it. I really wish that you could hide the rush option it would really help. I try to hold my self back but no matter what I just have to rush it. I have almost all the frames in the game and rushed more then half of them. How am I supposed to stop my self from rushing as I am wasting so much plat? I know this is a stupid topic but bear with me.

Self control. It’s that simple.

If you do not have the self control to not rush it, that is your problem. DE cannot hide the rush feature in a way that would stop this.

Welcome to the first session of WRRA. I am Hades and I guess it all started ....

All kidding aside, I know I have rushed a few items, because I was tired of logging in and asking "Is it done yet?" or hoping to come back from a mission to have *ding, it is ready".

My Advice? Do not buy plat until you farmed and have the frame/weapon ready to go, then pop it in the foundry, head over to buy the lowest package (75P) then you can rush it, have enough left over to potato it, and maybe enough for a mod if you so need one.

Not really .... to that statement be remotly acurate the frame that you rush should make you win plat O.o ...

That’s correct. Certain frames for certain missions can be very helpful for faster farming. If one can get these frames fast, one can start to earn Plat faster and sooner.

Ive never spent REAL money on rushing a frame. Just by trading and getting plat is what i use to trade. So i dont think DE is exactly "feeding" off me

Well the plat had to come from somewhere

since only purchased$$ plat can be traded between players; the stuff you got from trading is actually just someone else's REAL money.

Which is a pretty clever psychological trick there DE; getting people to spend each other's money faster than they would spend their own separately.

I'm pretty sure there's an analog to this with gambling and casinos; with people more willing to let go stuff they won in a previous game; but not looking at the overall bottom line...

The precise issue is Deferred Gratification vs. Instant Gratification.

Let's ignore the Orifice-Seeking Sycophants and acknowledge game companies use methods to create addiction using psychological methods to create Operant Conditioning Chambers (Skinner Boxes) to keep people coming back. Blizzard admitted as much. They prey on peoples addictions. Micro transactions galore anyone? ( I'll buy it NOW! )

Then gratification. There is a psychological test called the "Marshmellow Test." Here is a 4 minute video by Dr. Michio Kaku. How Marshmallows Predict Your Success explaining it. (Search for "Marshmellow Test" and you'll get plenty of other examples.)

In short, those children who can wait for a reward, generally, become far more successful than those who cannot wait for a reward. Deferred Gratification winning out over Instant Gratification. And there you have it.

My friend had the same problem! Usually when I feel impatient, I imagine all the other things I could buy with that plat. Sometimes I will just go play another game and usually when that happens I can't put the other game down. Time will go by playing the other game and I'll forget about Warframe until days later when the frame is ready, then it's back to Warframe! This also works for smaller things - just play something else for a little bit.

Don't fight it. It's $3 worth of a currency you can never turn back into real money, so you might as well use it. I mean, plat is there to be spent on stuff like that.

So Instant Gratification it is! Good Luck is Life ... um, person-thing... (who knows what to use now-a-daze).
