Critical Chance is no way near as desirable as attack speed, and never will attack speed be below elementals, hell look at actual sale prices for rivens, legit no one cares about elementals and attack speed is a common favorite. The most desirable stats undeniably are:

1. Crit Damage (This is by far the most desirable as it gives the highest DPS increase.)

2. Range (increases combo counter quickly and can hit more enemies at once.)

3. Attack Speed (Increases speed of combo counter increase and ability to proc status effects)

4. Free Negative (-Impact, etc., gives huuuuuuge boost to other stats)

As the original poster said, and I reiterated, perfect rolls are not a thing with zaws or rivens because everyone has different builds and the stats I mentioned are what I personally think are worth paying more than 500p for

And as for why I would put crit chance over attack speed.. its because the more base crit chance you have, the faster Blood Rush ramps up because it builds additively over it. Sure attack speed will result in more hits and faster combo count stacking, but the thing is, in regular play, you dont have enough enemies strung on a line to get past 3x multiplier.. which even with default speed will be reached within 30 seconds.. what matters is that cri chance will allow for a higher crit chance at 3x multiplier.. the difference being that at 3x multiplier without cc stat, you will be doing orange crits with a few reds even with a dedicated crit zaw build.. while if you have cc stat added, your 3x multiplier will get to red crits.. even 2/2.5 will start doing red crits.. so you get to higher crit chance and hence higher damage faster out of the gate, without waiting for it to ramp up..

With Maiming Strike, and a riven with at least 60% slide crit, adding more base crit will do absolutely nothing. At that point it will only be around another +50% CC at most compared to the 150-200% crit chance added from the riven and maiming strike. It ain't gonna do crap. That is why that stat is generally considered useless.

Oh indeed indeed.. Maiming Strike makes the cc stat moot.. 

Not everyone uses the spin2win tactic tho.. I agree.. if you use Maiming Strike, then definitely cc as a stat has no use at all.. but like me if you prefer to not use Maiming Strike or slide crit chance, then cc is a more useful stat than attack speed imo.
