Playing Alone

Question

Hi, I am playing from Brazil, in a canada account on switch. The game is all fine and such, but I find myself playing on solo mode, because I can't find anyone playing. Am I doing something wrong? Why isn't anyone recruiting in chat or playing online, or in early level there isn't anyone

If you have finished your tutorial quest, you should be able to see region/recruit/trade chat and others on it. I dunno if its different on switch tho so maybe someone on switch can assist more. Also make sure youre playing in public mode, on the top left near your name, there should be a globe.

Also people tend to only play “normal” missions if they’re farming something in particular. These will tend to be the same levels over and over. So as you initially start of, you won’t come into contact with many people as there is no reason for others to play that node again. As you progress, you’ll find more people playing.

Also as above, make sure you’re actually set to multiplayer by checking the icon next to your name!

Hey! A few things to try!

- As the worthy gentleman above has pointed out, progress a little further, the tutorial is often an alone experience.

- Check to see if your 'Matchmaking ping limit' and 'region' is set to a state that is inline with your internet connection.

- Make sure your matchmaking is set to Public

- Be aware you may not always find a group off the bat, people may join you after you've entered the mission.

The fact that you can't find other people playing missions is fairly normal for the vast majority of the star chart and the Nintendo Switch version in particular.

The Nintendo Switch in particular has the smallest population of players compared to the other platforms, which means you are less likely to find someone than on a platform like PC.

Additionally, players tend to play star chart missions only once to unlock the node, then will never touch it again.  This is because the rewards from the star chart missions are relatively common and can be farmed in multiple different places.  For example, relics can be farmed in pretty much every mission, so people will congregate to the missions where they can farm things the fastest.

Recruitment chat being dead is pretty standard for Nintendo Switch.  IDK how it is on other platforms, but few people use recruitment chat in general.  People just don't check that chat in particular.

In my experience, the places where you can find public matches with other people on Nintendo Switch are:

  • Sorties
  • Fissures
  • Certain Invasion missions (Phorid, brand-new ones, and ones with weapon parts or forma/catalyst/exilus adapter rewards)
  • Arbitrations
  • Plains of Eidolon and Orb Vallis (NOT going into Cetus/Fortuna and selecting a bounty, but by selecting the node specifically).
  • Eidolon Bounties
  • Hydron, Sedna (Neo Relic farming and affinity farming)
  • Helene, Saturn (Meso Relic farming and affinity farming)
  • New Stuff/Event Stuff (Ghoul Bounties, the new Disruption Mode, the new Ropalolyst Boss fight).

If you can, I would strongly recommend farming the Ropalolyst Boss now, since people won't be running it as much in a few weeks once they have Wisp.

Thank you for the answers, but I will have to further the questioning then.

1-) I finished the first boss (Vor's questline), so i think I ended the tutorial correct?

2-) I understood that the star chart is just to break trough but when the grind for mastery ranks start? I want to build new weapons but even the mastery rank 2 aren't available is that normal?

3-) I have to finish star chart to make contact with more people?

thanks

You gain Mastery rank by leveling warframes weapons and companions to 30.

So rank your 1st weapons, then buy mk-1 weapons and rank them to 30.

Build Taxon n rank that to 30. Get your 1st WF to 30.

Then take the MR tests that pop up to increase your MR.
