What is the purpose of being the best

If you don't like it don't play on public, git gud and play solo or socialise in recruitment chat. People equip nukes/high dps to get through the missions quickly, doing any fissure mission is fun the first few times when you're new but when you have 2k hours in the game and still haven't got a certain weapon/frame because of bullS#&$ rng thanks to DEs 'push it out never revisit it again' mechanics, dont be surprised when ppl rush through missions because they dont want to spend an extra 100 hours for a prime part/relic or get killed because they are most likely watching youtube etc. Also complaining about nukes/dps frames is the same thing as complaining that chroma shouldn't have vex armor or rhino shouldn't have iron skin because they're 'too tanky'. #*!% it, we might as well get rid of every frame in the game except for poster boy 'spam 4' cal  and call it a day.

Edit: it is currently 4am and i might have just misunderstood your post oof

Perfect description of worst gameplay. I love to not get enough Reactants until wave 5 in Defense Fissures because Saryn killed Enemies before they turned into Corrupted or wasting time in non endless missions because speedrunners are not willing to wait until you will get all Reactants.

I agree 100% there needs to be matchmaking based on mastery level so i dont need to play with obnoxious 15 and lower MRs.

Thats one thing that never ever gonna happen, this is actually a feature that many F2P games do. Good thing this game is not PVP because for example like in wartunder you can be a rank 10 and get matched with a team or versus a rank 100 players that have been playing for years.
idk afaik it kinda an intended system that encourage people to play more and reach higher ranks because they keep getting matched with higher ranks people.

il y a 43 minutes, Pooroldude a dit :

Maybe they just wana have fun while grinding and not sit on the excavator or the hostages or the point for 5minutes for 1hour.

Yeah and it's ok.

But if you drop too many excavator and can defend none or excavate too fast in fissure ( so no one can get 10pts) it's not ok.

And if this is understandable behaviour from a newbie, it's true that from some point others expect that you show some cooperation (it's pub and you can play the way you like but some minimal respect is always mandatory).

Yours is just one example of how common sense is far from common.

Yesterday we played meso relic defense. One guy killed the enemies so fast we couldnt collect enough reactant and open the relic. So nobody got anything.

After that inmense fail everyone left.

This game is so balanced.

we need to find the source of this corruption and purge before it gets worse. Or this mindset will be the new meta

a noble cause, to be sure, but also not possible. this is just human nature; to seek validity by being the best at something no matter what. we're all guilty of it in some form or another, it's just that in some people it manifests itself in ugly ways. that's why I never bother playing PvP modes, because it's just not worth the toxicity. I don't feel the need to prove myself against people I've never met, and I won't go out of my way to do something against my will just to get an extra inch on the old E-peen. but some people out there will do this, and when it backfires on them, that's when problems arise.

also, it's not a "new meta". just about any co-op game has people like this, who think they're Rambo on Steroids and will ignore the objective and their own survival just to deal more damage and look like the hero, teammates be damned. seen it in Destiny, Anthem, Borderlands, and more. there will always be the one clown who puts himself before a team: you just gotta deal with it when it happens.

What i don't get is how people have fun playing like that lol

Some people find efficiency enjoyable, especially when the game you are playing has a big portion of design around loot and rewards.

when you’re at that point in the game i wonder if they even find warframe that fun in the first place

Getting rewards faster and faster is always fun for a specific type of person.

That problem is derived from the mode itself. Specters of the Rail introduced the Fissure system that still has glaring issues. Fissures should have the enemies spawn corrupted or as the corrupted faction. It's ridiculous to make modes designed around enemy spawns. This was a major problem in The Jordas Verdict Trial for a long time because if you didn't get spawns, you would not progress the mission. This issue is also why Europa Infested Excavation Arbitrations are frustrating compared to Tikal/Hieracon. Likewise even ESO on release faced this problem with specific tiles not being able to match or come close to the efficiency dropping.

If you join pubs, expect all kinds of people, even those who do not play your style.

That is why there is invite only and friends only. Also, there is recruit chat.

But the least I can expect is for the people who sign up for a mission to do the objective, no? I've seen weird types in kuva survival that completely ignore the harvesters, getting them destroyed and then yelling for failing it.

Same with mobile defense being in a completely different room.

Same with bounties. Same with normal defense, same with interception. I've seen people not capturing any towers at all, yet want the loot.. just weird.

I dont much care where they go or what they do, except in excav. In that place people should play the objective and not twirly-whirl all over with their memerax or wipe out enemies pointlessly far away with Saryn. It just leads to slow rounds and high chance that extractors go boom.

Saryns just spreads the canisters all over and the twirly-whirl kids just activate more extractors on "accident" and having them fail.

Same S#&$e goes for Kuva Survival. Yes it has survival in the name, no you dont have to run all over the place and lower the efficiency more than needed.

When I run into those people I tend to head for extraction asap, then they can stay and fail if they like.

edit: Interception idiots also tick me off. How flarkin' hard is it to stick to a tower and defend it? Na lets run all over like a cat on the nip, lose your tower and drag out the round by minutes. Everyone enjoys that surely!

Unless they die too far away I don't mind reviving them. It's not like I care enough to do the killing myself anyway.

I like survival fissure. You have enough time to get reactant.

Its also luck because yesterday I played two 30 min mot fissure survivals in public.

Once I played an hour long arbitration survival in public.

A little offtopic, but in skill based games like WT it's not even necessarily a bad thing.

I learned a lot from high lvl players that way back when i was a noob, still having fun f.ex. prophanging low levels, it's part of the learning process and the bonuses elite crews give aren't that big either.

Now Warframe co-op is a completely different game where your odds depend much more on the gear you use than your skills.

WF pvp is entirely about the exploiting the broken parkour system while spamming full auto meta on small maps, imo. it's completely braindead and not comparable to WT.

I see no one has provided the correct answer yet.

Obviously the purpose for being the best, some might say the very best like no one ever was, is to catch and train a bunch of Pokemon.

Duh.

I would not call a Lone Wolf bleeding out in the middle of Nullifiers convention “the best”.

And let’s not forget, sometimes a player doing the objective can be as obnoxious as a halfway hero. Take certain type of Mesa on PoE, for example. Or Limbo with eye-bleeding energy color. I would not blame if people wonder away to not be bored or avoid seizures.

I would not dispute a nuker preventing corrupted spawns in endless mission being a major annoyance, though.

Those types of missions are boring, yes, but i always prioritize the objective and then goof off on my own if i can.

That's the main problem I have with them. Objective dies and they call everyone else a noob for not defending it, when they weren't even defending it in the first place.

As the title says.

Have you ever played excavation/defense/capture/defection missions with randoms and met and obnixous Mesa/Saryn/Volt (with spin to win whip and always spamming speed) and getting the most kills but yet never actually doing the objective and always dying off screen and waiting for someone to revive them?

Has this ever happened to you?

Were your left defending the objective while the children go get themselves killed and left wondering is this a survival mission or is this defend the objective

Why do new players believe having most kills and best dps means your doing most of the work is beyond me. These players never contribute but always die off screen and expect you to revive them when there 400m away.

Where did this mindset come from I honestly want to know. This is why so many people don't play with randoms, we need to find the source of this corruption and purge before it gets worse. Or this mindset will be the new meta

In another topic I suggested that those who enjoy spinning probably have IQ equal to their age...

I am beginning to fear the profundity of that statement.

I always prioritize the objective. If that means walking over your dead or dying corpse to do so, than guess what?!

I'm still hoping for DE to implement a party matching system where I can publish the squad composition that I want... while I'm at it I would also love to see a market place / auction house system... instead we get a new UI that basically nobody asked for but I digress...

The answer was already provided:
You're playing pubs. You have to expect any kind of player in pubs. So you either get the leecher, the "IGottaKillEverything" player or, very rarely, the kind of player you'd like to have. If somehow in the middle of all of this, you don't get the typical LoL player that provides some very amusing chat lines because your kill count is below 20% you're in luck.

Your only solution is to just compose your own squad in the mean time.

In no way am I disagreeing with the OP btw, I just stopped worrying about things that clearly the devs don't worry much about. I probably just need to get shown some light these days.

(offtopic: i swear though if tennocon is 90% railjack again this year I'll quit for a while)

My favourite game mode is survival but Christ, doing it with pugs is sole destroying.

Watching my three "team mates " run off in different directions all over the map makes it nothing but a chore to try and collect the 10 reactant.  And players setting off life support as soon as it appears even if we're at 99% and I've already explained politely not to do it and why.  Just aaaargh.

Blame the mission screen at the end.  It's all about wanting to stroke their dongle having the most kills/damage.

But like others have said, with pugs you should expect the worst.  You will not be disappointed.

Hmm, the alternative would be "why get upset that someone else is killing everything?"

I'm sorry I have better builds than you. Have you considered gitting gud? 🙂

Seriously though, how much of what OP says is true or is just an assumption? Like...

How does one know what new players believe?

There is different reasons to go pub :

- You need help because you cant do the mission solo.

- You can do solo but want more affinity or more enemies for more loot.

In the first situation you can be annoyed by your teamates gameplay but in the second this doesn't really matter.

I recently farm a lot of Plague Star with pubs.

Sometimes there are players MR2 that join or others that dont know what to do.

No big deal, i just do the mission by myself and if they can get some rewards easely it's cool for them.

The second type is still really annoying when they're off 200 meters away outside of affinity range and arent killing stuff near the nekros. So you arent getting the extra xp or loot.
