Is there a way to change the FONT-SIZE in forum posts?

Question

Hello,

i just want to know if there is a way to change the font-size in this forum?

I think i have seen it a few times, but i cant find any button for this and the usual commands dont seem to work.

This would be interesting for me since i have one big topic about the OpenWorlds in which i gather ideas and concepts since ~ a year now.

Although i am using all the tools available (bold/underline/font colours/spoilers/quotes) i have the feeling it could be arranged a bit better.

It would be nice to have at least the Headlines in a different size.

Edit: Btw, simply creating a new topic each time isnt too much of an option since sometimes one idea is building up on other ideas, so its nice to have everything in one place imo.

In case you wanna have a quick look, this is the topic i am talking about:

Maybe you have other ideas (or even think it doesnt need more structure?)

I am thankful for any reply! 🙂

we used to have controls like that when everything was just full BBCode, but since we've been using WYSIWYG nonsense on the Forums for several years now, Text Size isn't something you can control from within the Editor.

if you wanted larger Text you would have to have Text with that Formatting elsewhere and have your Browser copy that Formatting. it'll look disgusting though and copying Formatting is one of the worst parts about WYSIWYG Editors, with people copying fore/background colors and Fonts and other formatting.

either way it looks like you're doing ok there with colors and B/I/U and Centering things for Titles, Et Cetera.

Best I can offer is typing your post in Word or something, using a larger font, then copy/pasting it here and using the "remove formatting" button to keep it coherent.

That sounds like a good idea, think i am gonna try it. Thank you!

so this is basically a thread promoting your other thread which hasn't had much interest/replies from other forum members...

... seriously..? If i would care for likes or stuff like that i would have stopped posting anything in that topic half a year ago and instead exclusively post nonsense in General Discussion like many others do with huge success 😉

Never heard of this WYSIWYG tbh 😁

Thanks for the explanation though.. i am still gonna try it, if it looks stupid i will remove it again.

stands for "What You See Is What You Get" - but they just accept too much Formatting so it doesn't really ever pan out that way. and Formatting you put it is processed so it may change from that too.
all you really need to know is they're frustratingly limiting and BBCode + partial HTML Tags tbh is just so much better. the idea of WYSIWYG is to make writing stuff just like using Microsoft Office but it's.....  a very distant cousin.

Yes actually, as you've just shown... you're the majority poster in the linked thread.....

You didn't need to post a link to the other thread when the question was basically 'how do I change the font size'...

The only way I know that might work is to go to other web pages on the internet, highlight, copy (ctrl+C), and paste (ctrl+V) into this forum's text box. Can copy my numbers below, paste, and type at the end of a number.

1 2 3 4 5 6 7

There's probably an easier way, but formatting the text in word or writeurl and pasting it in richtext seems to work.

edit: some of it probably depends on the browser.  I can see the different  sizes on both my pc and phone, but the funky typeface I used on "work" doesn't show up on the latter.
