Ludoplex: RTS game

Happy Zephyr is kinda fun, Frame fighter is buggy and Wyrmius is fun but t0000 harrrrrdddd. How about a new mini game? An RTS should be easy to make.

- Nothing too fancy, just 2 maps: Plains of EIdolon & Orb Vallis. Tenno VS Grineer & Corpus.

- Plenty of resources to pick from just cut it down to 4-5 (like Rubedo, Argon etc).

- You can only spawn 1 warframe 'hero', 2 if you scanned all Framefighter orbs.

- Enough existing models to make out their roles (like workers, fighters, heavy units etc)

 

Star Wars (Galactic Battlegrounds) had an Age of Empires game, why not Warframe.

I... ...kinda think the new Auto Chess thing that's currently all the rage would be a better fit. Frames would be the pieces, and they'd just automatically use their abilities. The strategy would be how you synergize them.

It might also be easier to do. We are talking about a silly little minigame, after all.

Not a bad idea but that's waaaaaay to mini even for a mini game xD. I gotta admit though, an RTS would be bigger than any current mini game.

or maybe not dilute the game with mroe pointless stuff, thats the kind of stuff they could chuck on their website as a minigame rather than clutter up the proper game.

Nothing proper about Warframe. And that's kind of what sets it apart from other games... It's definitely a weird mix of things!

it also means more patches to non warframe stuff with any bugs found on these subgames, i would have just left them on the website to play via pc/mobile.

I would prefer a more HoMM style, Corpus vs Grineer turn-based game, but an RTS could also work.

I wonder how the worker units would look like for the Tenno faction?

Cephalons? Helminth? Ostrons? (if so, what about before the Ostrons?)Corpus hired workers? (wouldn't make sense, they would give away any Tenno's locations for money since they are greedy milk), maybe Syndicate workers?

You never see when you're building your Dojo, it just builds itself, so it must be a mistery unless we have giant spaceship sized foundries that can just print those rooms.

Probably something like the Tenno rescue targets. Would be nice to finally get NPCs to place in dojo, waiting for this to get added.

I love this idea....I could see this even becoming an entire game mode, not just a mini-game.

I would love this too. As an entire game mode or giving us access to the ludoplex as an orbiter module (like radio and nightwave).

Also, this mode could have scaled dificulty, as someone that trades A LOT I tend to be lots of hours with the game open while playing other stuff, working on my shop or studying.

Having a minigame, even an RTS without much story added to the game will be fantastic

Except they would need to be built again from scratch. That's a heavy no.

Now, brand new mobile department that built warframe themed phone games through the WF app to enhance (for example) resource drones. Then... maybe?

Would be time better spent giving them some kind of useful connectivity instead of lunch break hobby level, play a few times then forget, distractions.
