Ash acquisition is unforgiving

Used to be available from the old Tyl Regor boss before the Tubemen of Regor update. That was changed when Equinox was introduced, I can understand how getting regular Ash can be a pain in the Hek with the current drop rates and appearances of Manics. One of the previous few ways of getting him after Equinox was added in for new players was to bring them along for the Law of Retribution Trial, as one of its rounds had constant Manics whose drops were not disabled (unlike several tac alerts with them). For now, Defection if you can stomach it is decent, as at least one will come during a normal full rotation or you could muck around Grineer missions with starting level 20 or above and then keep on the alarms, eventually one will show per mission.

I think DE should just up the Manic threat by having them spawn a group of 2 or 3 after having an alarm up for 2min, then again every 4min until alarm is disabled. And give them their old pounce back.

Also rework Ash already, at least make the grind to get him worth the effort.

Ash is great, what are you smoking ? Tons of frames have crap loadouts with filler abilities (Loki gets switch teleport and decoy , for example) , Ash gets a cheap armor stripping bleeding shuriken, an invisibility that can be shared if you want, a teleport that oneshots lvl 99999 enemies and a move that tags and kills tons of enemies with finisher damage and bleed while you're free to continue fighting... Honestly, the only thing I would fix about ash is to make bladestorm targetting target multiple nearby enemies at once instead of having to manually target each one of them by flailing around the mouse or joystick.... Or heck, going back to the old "Selects the 18 or so closest enemies and have your clones attack them"... Woudn't really be more OP than something like Mesa's peacemaker or Sary's nukes.

That said, I do admit his acquisition method is quite a pain nowadays. Back when we had raids with guaranteed maniac spawns, it was fine, but nowadays, getting maniacs to spawn reliably is extremely hard, even when doing the Clem weeky mission as some people have suggested. Add to the fact Ash is a really cool frame, he's the embodiment of a ninja in a space ninja game , and the fact his prime is vaulted makes him one of the worse frames to get currently. At the very least the maniacs in Tyl Regor's boss should have ash parts in their drop tables, since they are guarateed spawns there.

lmao they need more than their old pounce back. maybe add a zero to those numbers now it's getting spoopy. Give them the ability to parry and do finishers on players outside just the pounce too xD

Let's see: Shuriken, outside of the augment, is completely worthless due to it's low damage and while the bleed does a lot of damage over it's duration it takes ages. I would rather have a normal duration bleed with a big boost in damage than a slightly stronger bleed that takes two weeks to kill a grunt. Smoke Shadow is also worthless because it was nerfed into oblivion. Teleport is only worth using with the augment, otherwise is as worthless as shuriken because the enemies that you want to single out are either inmune to it or ignore the stagger and grounpunch you out. And only has that scaling with Dagger weapons, so tough luck if you want to use anything other than a kitchen knife. And the 4th may as well be Slowstorm because it can be outkilled by bulletjumps due to it's terrible marking system, ridiculous energy cost and excruciatingly slowarse execution.

Or keep the marking but make the execution instant.  Or, you know, rework it into something less rtarded.

That a character is functional doesn't mean it's good.

Right now Ash is in the same spot Rogues were in Lich King era.

First you need a Manic, then you need to hope you get the drop you want. Youre lucky to even get a common Ash part. This farm needs to be looked at and adjusted.

Khora says hi.

So does Harrow.

Equinox rolls her eyes.

Nidus just looks at you and shakes his head slowly.

Ophelia is a good place to farm Ash, and a manic usually drops in at about the 18 minute mark. The Atomos is pretty good at catching him, if you fire at a corpse nearby, since the beam will link from the corpse to nearby mobs, invisible or not. Cyanex homing projectiles are working as well. Far easier farm than a lot of other frames out there.

Ya or just farm manics when fighting tyl regor. Use nekros, pilfering hydroid, ore gaze atlas, or pilfering khora... Goes pretty quick

I did defections to get the assured Maniac at 5-7 minutes. I had to farm two systems (the rare part) for the frame and the smoking body ephemera. it took about four hours worth of missions. from what I read I was quite lucky. but I highly recommend defections for this farm. they aren't as boring or as hard as I was led to believe.

Huh? While farming Yursa, Neptune for Harrow Systems, I've encountered 1-3 manics per 8 squads. I have like 5 sets of Ash now... No Harrow Systems.

EDIT: Just got Harrow Systems today after a few days of sparsely farming Yursa, Neptune. Why Yursa, Neptune when you can do Caracol, Saturn? I wanted Axi relics (particularly H4 for Red Veil's last rank). Otherwise, Yursa, Neptune and Caracol, Saturn have the same odds of rewarding Harrow Systems (the highest of all defection missions!). You get 1 guaranteed Manic after 2nd squad rescued and then after 18-20 minutes (usually around 6 or 7 squads rescued), 2 more Manics will usually spawn at the same time. And they drop those Ash parts pretty frequently considering how many times you might have to run to get Harrow Systems.
