Add an indicator of a weak spot hit on the damage number

Simply because a player unaware of the weak spots can do this:

And then this:

And mistakenly believe that the MOA's chest is the correct spot to deal more damage, since the headshot on the crewman was doing less. This does not take into account the people that already know how weak spots work, and to suggest "but people who played the game for 2000 hours already know this, so it doesn't need to be addressed" would be ignorant. The game should relay information correctly to the players, and the constant variations on damage numbers, even when shooting the same target on the same spot, doesn't help the player understand properly which spot will do more damage to the enemy. This is specially noticeable on MOAs, due to the classic "aim for the head" coupled with their weak spot being their testicles from the front, and their battery thingy from the back, which gives some people a confusion on where to actually shoot for maximum damage. Sure, you could just minmax your weapon and one-hit everything, but for the sake of argument, let's assume the game is balanced towards a time to kill above a tenth of a second.

I personally suggest an random symbol like + or * on the left side of the number to indicate that the damage wasn't necessarily a crit (since the colour wouldn't change), but that something different happened when your shot went that way.

Well with moas you gotta realize what you referred to as their "testicles" is actually the moa's head? Not saying this is a bad idea just pointing that out.

No, really, it's the testicles. The weak spot on the back part is a big chunk between their legs when viewed from the front.

The part on the back is a battery pack and it's attached more like what would be between the should blades(or as close to as a pair of legs with a gun attached can have) and hangs down like a backpack. Right in front of that IS infact the moa's face which is an additional weakpoint. The battery is just a better one.

What is better than a cross-hair indicator? That is where a player will be directing their attention given that they are in a shooting scenario.

The crosshair indicates where the center of the screen usually is and where your shots will land. If the player is specifically always looking at the center of the screen, instead of around it, in a shooter game, that player either got spoiled by doing low-level content with Inaros and Ignis Wraith, or they just like getting killed for not paying attention.

Well alright then. Apparently I'm not high-brow elite enough to understand the mental and muscle-memory complexities of not needing to look at where the cross-hair is aimed on when playing a shooter. I'm out.

If you want a friendly tip for the future, don't instantly switch to passive-aggressiveness just because someone doesn't agree with you.
