Sniper Buffs

If you're going to nerf the sniper Dispo, then buff the base stats. Snipers are a niche weapon in the base game, they are only popular in Eidolon Hunting which ends up hurting those of us who actually like using snipers for everything that's not Eidolon hunting. Remove the dumb zoom in to get stats mechanic already and allow us to get full stats from the get go so we can use the zoom how we want it. Every new stupid riven update is another dumb nerf. I strictly use a utility Riven for my Lanka to patch up the weapon's weakness, +fire rate and -zoom, yet each nerfs makes this Riven worse at trying to patch the sniper's innate bad design.

Agree with everything else than the zoom bonus.

It incentivizes using the sniper as it's meant to be used and adds a tradeoff of difficulty for more damage at close range.

If anything, the scope nerfs should be reversed.

Rubico Prime and also Lanka used to be amazingly great with top Rivens. Now the damage outputs of these weapons with the same but triple nerfed Rivens are just very mediocre and also very inconsistent. They became snipers that don’t hit like snipers.

I really want to know how DE can continue to nerf the weapons,especially sniper rifles. Rubico is a weapon I have spent a ton of time on and as soon as I have it set up it gets nerfed so Im thinking why do I bother working on the weapons. All the good weapons are being nerfed into the ground and bad weapons are being buffed. So I have to say the weapons are basically MR fodder and rivens are quickly becoming trash. It took me almost 2 years to set my rubico up and get a riven and now I feel like DE doesnt care at all about the players who actually spend their time to perfect these weapons and spend money to do so because of the insanely low drop rate of the rivens. This is making thousands of people ask why they even play anymore. I love Warframe and have spent thousands of dollars on my arsenal. I will no longer spend money for this game it is worthless to do so

If players actually fought hard enemies you'd prolly see more sniper use. They're one of the best scaling weapons in the game.

Their niche use is the same reason stuff like Dread doesn't get used much anymore. We don't fight enemies that justify single target DPS let alone a type with heavy downsides. Yea, they're doing it based off Eidolon hunting but if this game worked properly the main ones wouldn't be over a 1.0 Disp anyways.

 

You're using them on niche content so they get judged based on that content and if you weren't they'd be 0.8 - 1.0 Disp anyways.

This topic makes me laugh.  The weapons themselves did not get nerfed.  Only the riven dispositions.  If you over paid for a riven while knowing it would be changed, then that's your fault.

Yeah, 95% crit chance on Rubico with Point Strike is too inconsistent. The Lanka can already surpass 100% crit without a Riven! Both of these are amazing weapons still.

Want inconsistent? My Vulkar Wraith with a Riven has 84% crit chance. That's still not so bad, but it doesn't touch unriven'd Lanka/Rubico Prime crit chance.

I'm in exact same situation here. Have been using a -zoom riven to keep up with a bunch of enemies zerg-rushing past my fov. This nerf made it even harder.

Why should I suffer because of something being meta for eidolons? Arghhhh That is so much annoying, DE.

While the zoom is lame, Nova will make it a little more tolerable. She is a great frame to use and play with when using a sniper.

Nova is my main-frame. Not especially because of sniping but mostly thanks to arbitration-interception.

Maybe a good temp solution would be to make a "Close Range Optics" mod that has a certain amount of -Zoom, like those PvP mods but not locked only to Air Glide.

Let's say there's such a mod giving you -50% zoom... Here comes a lovely dilemma: be or not to be? What should I sacrifice to get a slot for that... Now what? Screw sniper rifles. I'll take battacor.

In fact it will be fine to have such a mod. If would give more options. But maybe... It's time to make OPTICS scale custumisable. Why not? It will be an ultimate solution.

Just give us an opportunity to choose scope magnification in arsenal. It would be such a great thing for all snipers.

The biggest modding issue in Warframe right now is that Damage mods have an absolute stranglehold on mod slots. Because of the sheer desperation people have for stacking damage onto weapons many mods are pretty much useless because they do nothing to effect DPS.

I'm aware of that, I don't think there are many players who aren't, but Rivens shouldn't be the main way to reduce zoom distance, the only reason people even bothered reducing zoom distance in the first place was BECAUSE of Rivens being able to do so ON TOP of extra damage.

So the real question is, do you actually want to be able to reduce your zoom distance so a sniper could be used in closer ranges more effectively? Or is this just another "My riven got nerfed" thing and the zoom distance is just a smokescreen for more damage on a Riven?

 Good thing weapons have about a hundred other stats other than critical chance.

Maybe that's why people spend stupid amounts for cc cd rivens whiile i buy the better dmg multi for a lot less plat, but that's a talk for another day.

I even crated a topic about that. But no one seems to give a S#&$e. Niche weapons they say.

could just not build around rivens especially when you know the weapon is prone to riven readjustments. 

Rivens are just power creep atm as we got nothing worthwhile to fight that justifies them. Can fight the eidolons and so on just fine without them and still retain a good kill of them per night. 

Ppl that pay for rivens need to be held accountable that it's a gamble buying the riven to begin with since it can get nerfed or buffed.
