Why has Prime Access gone from 82.99CAD to 102.99CAD in Xbox?

I’ve looked everywhere for why they would raise the price so much on Xbox but can’t find anything. I contacted Microsoft support thinking it would be because of them and they said that it wasn’t them, they didn’t know why and the developer hasn’t given a reason.

They haven’t increased the platinum amount or added anything extra to the prime access or accessories pack to warrant a price hike like this.

has anyone heard anything why they’ve done this?

The price has increased on consoles but remains the same on PC. PS4: $106.49, Switch: $100.79. I haven't seen a reason for the change posted.

Could be because the Canadian dollars value might've dropped again recently. Physical new releases used to be 60 in Canada, they went to 70 and now 80. I don't actively watch the value but with how things have been going for a while I can't say I'm surprised.

Ps4 106.00???? That's ridiculous. They just priced me out. In a game with content that does not require a prine anything, this will be the end of me buying prime access

Well, here in Brazil we got a price increase of almost 90%. =(
From 161 BRL to 297 BRL and accessories from 121 BRL to 222 BRL

prime accessories were the same for me on ps4 at 60$ and i saw prime access at 80 yesterday.

My friends in UK and the USA have confirmed that they have increased the prices for them too on consoles.

I don’t understand why prices have gone up for consoles but remains the same for PC if the Canadian Dollar value is the issue wouldn’t it affect every digital market not just consoles?

As I said I’ve contacted Microsoft they said they have nothing to do with the price increase and that it’s the developers that set the price he even gave me a link and told me to go take it up with digital extremes

Same here Didn’t mind the previous prices especially for the accessories but when PA is 1/4th of my pay check and accessories is the price of a new game you’ve gone too far

Extremely frustrating situation. Saw a reddit post saying Microsoft support told that person that item prices are set by Developers. I filed a support ticket with DE and they said Microsoft and Sony decide conversion rates, extra fees and such. I’m probably not getting prime access again, a brand new game is significantly cheaper.

Again does no one understand that Sony and Microsoft DO NOT set PA prices yes but they most likely charge DE a set price for data transfer and taxes or some other secondary charge for PA so if Sony and Microsoft start charging DE more for those secondary charges the item that is being bought will also increase in price.   

That is how Sony and Microsoft can say they do not "directly" set the PA price and be telling the truth but still be the direct cause why the price went up ONLY on consoles and why DE say's that its Sony and Microsoft that decide those prices cause they do.

If DE was gonna raise the price of PA they would have done it across the board not just on consoles.

I heard there's a difference in the amount of plat you get with the accessories between PC and console. Maybe that's the reason?

I wish they would give a reason for this. I've played Warframe for the last 6 years and probably spent $5,000 in the game over the years. Between buying Prime access and regular Platinum. I may not buy Prime access unless they pick up the rewards in it. If anyone hears anything please post in here I would like to see it

Prime Access is 79.99 USD, which is about 103 CAD currently. Prices didn't change, it would just mean they updated the conversion. This would be why Microsoft directed you to DE, since you asked about a price increase, and why DE directed you back to Microsoft since they know the price wasn't increased and figured you meant conversion rate. You would just have to ask Microsoft the question about USD->CAD conversion being updated.

It's because your money is not the same price vs USD anymore. Exchange values change in the world, thus online.  Why should they give you more plat, just because your money is worth less to us

Technically, if that was the case shouldn't it be the other way round given that DE is Canadian and they get to set the price?

Exactly! Stop crying becouse prime acces prices went up in your curent countrys. Remember,the game is free and nobody is forcing you to buy it since you can get the frame and weapons in game. The only thing that is worth to buy are the prime accesorys.

we are talking about 125,99 euro in germany for prime access

i basically pay for 2 games each prime access... sounds reasonable and supporterish
