Modular warframe

I just thought it might be cool...

Think 4 modular sets of warframes with parts named after the 3 (4) musketeers. The arms give the 1 and governs pwr strength and efficency, the legs give the 2 and governs range and movement speed,  the torso gives the 3 and governs health and armor, and the head gives the 4 and governs energy and shields. Make the each ability similar (all 1s are a buffs, 2s are a dmg, 3s are a summon(think rapiers daggers, pistol...), 4s should be unique) and i'd even say make them interchangeable at the next quill character. You lvl up the head but you can break the rest down and rebuild it (that way eventual prime wouldnt be out of the question). Could even have different parts maintain 2 designated mod slots so you could keep 2 d polarities on the tank torso, and dashes on a caster style one. Thoughts?

I dont think a potential Prime version of a modular frame is really worth considering. I do like the potential for modular frames though and I think modular Archwings are actually DE's testrun of abilities on modular stuff. I am however concerned a bit with potential powercreep. If Zaws and Kitguns are anything to go by then Modular Frames could üretty much powercreep away our entire roster.

I do hope the abilities are split up between the parts like you suggested. However I wouldnt restrict it in buff, dmg and summon abilities. IMO this would lead to some parts never being used because another part does a similar thing, just better.

It's gonna be a no from me. DE is going to do modular Archwings, but there are only 4 archwings available at the moment, and they're all about as interesting as milk toast anyways, and very few are all that enthusiastic about the current state of archwing, as opposed to their core game mode with the Warframes. So, adding a modular system to spice up archwing makes sense. Not many people will honestly feel that they wasted hours on end to farm Itzal only to have it replaced by a modular archwing system. When it comes to frames though, the very center of this entire game, you're looking at a high chance of either introducing a weak system no one cares to play other than to get MR fodder, or making currently 40 warframes obsolete. Kitguns and Zaws pretty much saw the majority of side arms and melee weapons become MR fodder. Modular Archwing is likely to see the 4 originals become MR fodder. As more people push for modular primaries, that's likely to follow the same problem. And eventually, you're going to have a game where the only thing people are really playing are a handful of pieces that are interchangeable simply because "big numbers." I almost wish they had never done modular anything, but you have to kind of give the players what they want to increase sales and look appealing to investors. But the more they do that, the more they move towards becoming a game with one meta, and they're already facing that issue when they have an ever increasing roster that either out does previous frames, or becomes MR fodder. Honestly, I'd rather they stop releasing new warframes after Grendell and Gauss to go back and focus on bringing older frames up to date. It's a good idea, especially as we get closer and closer to being able to reach MR 30, to either change something about the game's mechanics such as increasing difficulty and increasing MR rank to 40 as well as increasing base mod capacity to 80. Or, to revisit old content to give it a new shine so that it's able to perform and work along side the newer content.

Lol with like all but 10 frames already mr fodder not to mention primes just out classing vanilla frames, youve got 30 frames almost unused. As to the other reply i agree, they would be power creep potential, but every frame is. The idea was summon different stuff like one summons a primary one summons a secondary one a rapier and one a pet or something. Thats why the rank is a bit stickier too. Think modular but reforgable. I dont mean to be mean, but any argument about refocusing on older content is laughable. Even a rework of a cruddy frame like Wukong had a super short half life. Veterans are gonna blow through that stuff in a minute and newbs will never understand what something was before. A complex mechanic like this would add depth and allow for more fine tuned patches later. IMO none of what Zeromus would hold water. If all we want is for 3 final mastery ranks to have 90 varieties of vanilla, then yeah he's right. But if the players want spice then I think modular warframes would do right.
