Inventory help

Question

I am a new player to warframe and it has come to my attention that I have limited inventory space. I have also been told that you should not throw away item until you have “finished them”. As a result I have not crafted anything even though I am up to mercury. I wanted to know how much inventory space I have, at what point will I can get mods I can trade for platinum to get more spots?

I wanted to make a taxon as I have enough resources, is this a good idea? as a companion seems helpful but again inventory space

each individual thing (warframes, weapons, pets, sentinals, archwing all have their own slots for weapons you start with i believe 4-5 warframe 1 sentinal 6 (sentinal weapons included) pets 3 arching idk) most people tell beginners to spend their starter 50 plat on slots for weapons and warframes as that can help big time and finishing a weapon is getting it to max rank of level 30 and you should keep weapons you like (exception being mk weapons and a weapon you have the prime for) or are strong

You have limited slots but its for each category. Like for example, you start with 2 warframe slots, 4 weapon slots, 4 robotic slots (for your sidekick sentinels like Taxon), etc.. these are hypothetical numbers because I forget how many you specifically start with. You can check how many open slots you have by going into Esc -> Equipment -> Inventory. Once in that, when you click on the tabs above (warframes, weapons, etc), you can see how many open slots you have in each category. And you can craft accordingly. Also, you can craft things in advance in the foundry and claim them once you get enough inventory slots. They stay in your foundry till then.

As for platinum, early on, the easiest way to get platinum is to farm void fissures and possibly collect prime parts and prime sets. Then you can trade them for plat with other players. Its easier to sell full sets, for example, for Chroma Prime, you get the blueprints for Chroma Prime chassis, neuroptics, systems and the main blueprint.Remember, crafted pieces cant be sold.

And as for selling/throwing away stuff you have, its better to do so once you rank it to rank 30 because thats what counts as the xp for leveling up your mastery rank. You can throw away the MK-1 weapons early if you absolutely need inv space, since they can be reacquired easily again once you have more space later. But its best to max stuff out before selling it from your inventory.

Each section has their own inventory slots, varying in number (I think Arkennstar is correct on the numbers but I'm not entirely sure).

Any item you find that you have mastered (reached rank 30) and aren't too keen on/don't use anymore I would suggest selling for credits, especially at the beginning of the game when you really need the credits for crafting. The MK-1 weapons I would suggest selling as soon as you have another one of that weapon class (new primary, for example). They're really just average starter weapons and are easy mastery in the beginning, since leveling up gear is how you earn mastery points (and thus progress farther into the game). Many weapons I have ended up selling as soon as I reached rank 30 with them, easily opening up new inventory space for the next weapon.

As for getting plat, farming void fissures and selling prime parts is an easy way to make plat. Prime parts are easy to get and, depending on the rarity, can sell for a lot, especially when there are always people on the hunt for just about every prime part out there. Another suggestion is to make sure you log in every day after 8pm EST, which is when the daily login rewards reset. Every once in a while, the logins will give you sales on platinum from the market. If you get 50% and above, use it. It's an easy way to get lots of platinum without throwing away your entire wallet (and it helps support the team working on the game). I have managed to hold over 3,000 plat before thanks to login platinum sales alone and I've spent a total of maybe $45 for a value of like $120. But prime part sales are probably the fastest way of getting the platinum you need to upgrade your inventory.
