[Kubrow] [Screenshot] Is Omega size a myth?

Hello. 🙂

I've been doing research for a quite some time now yet still, I am not able to tell how big Omega really is. Literally every single screenshot on the internet features old UI, which makes it impossible for me to compare my and other doggos. Screenshots from the inside the Stasis is not going to work in this case — two different sized kubrows (Medium/Large) appears to be the same height in the preview mode. The only way to see the differences in size is to look at the imprint preview.

Ok, so here is my Kubrow:

Can anybody provide an image or at least confirm if they are owner of a bigger dog? (If you are going to take a picture, please make sure the camera is in the same position - I personally took a ss right after opening preview window)

I've rebreeded my companion around 24 times so far. Unfortunately all I am getting are 3 values: Small, Medium and Large, which seems correct if we take a look at wiki but on the other hand, there are some screenshots on the internet where kubrows are clearly bigger. I am really confused. Is Omega really a thing?

Omega Kubrows do infact exist, one recommended way to find out if it's omega is to see of the ears reach past the "Incubator" at the top when you're looking at him through the incubator. However, Kubrow sizes don't translate to any imprints, so the size is always random per rebreed.

Okay so "omega is a myth" is because height, which is what omega actually refers to, though the kubrow being bulky is often a part of it, can't be passed down through templates.

 

There are def kubrow taller than yours, but you won't necessarily get one from buying a tall Kubrow. You could make templates and breed over and over if you want to pusdh for an omega. That is the only surefire way.

 

The bulkiness of the kubrow is build and is affected by genetics passed down from the parent(s) incidentally.

Yes, I know. That is why I am keep on rebreeding same kubrow over and over, trying to roll as big size as possible. 🙂

...and to be honest, I've seen screenshots of dogs being bigger. What confuses me is the fact that wiki doesn't say anything about 4th hidden value. There is only Small, Medium and Large. I am pretty sure I saw all 3 sizes while rebreeding my doggo - the one on the screenshot is Large.

Does it mean that each size is just a range of numbers? For example Small (0-3), Medium (0-3) and Large (0-3) where Large3 is Omega? Does this makes sense?

I would take Kaldwing's advice and check if the ears go past the text when viewed from stasis or in the incubator menu

 

I vaguely remember one of my Kubrow being roughly as tall or taller than harrow when he was standing next to it.

This is one of those images that indeed, makes me think there a bit more to the size than just small, medium and large... but again tho, this is a screenshot from the old UI and we can not really tell if DE did or did not adjust displayed size, which means I can not compare it. Here is a test with "INCUBATOR" text:

This test tho, doesn't seems like a good way to confirm the size, because you can simply move your cursor to change UI position. Having my cursor on "EXIT" makes the ears touch "INCUBATOR" text. 😛

Edit: My bad, the ears are touching the "INCUBATOR" text when I move my cursor up, not down.

wut? That's the same UI as we have now.

Height hasn't changed since I made that screenshot.

UI from the imprint preview mode. It is different now. I got imprints on the left side and you got them on the right. Title is different as well. We can not tell if DE didn't adjust displayed size as well. Preview from the inside of Stasis do not work at all. I know it didn't. What we don't know is the fact if previewed size in new UI was adjusted or not. I simply want to see the size of Omega in the new UI from the imprint preview window. 🙂

Edit: by size I ment size of the preview, not the size of kubrows itself.

That change was recent, it's maybe a few months difference for the screenshot. I track quite a bit of things to keep my guides up to date. They haven't played with height, unless ANY image posted are subject to that unnecessary concern.

When I was talking about size adjustment, I ment only previewed model, not the doggo itself. As a graphic designer, this is something I took into consideration. There is no way of telling what they exactly did to improve the UI. 😄

Having about a billion prints I can shuffle through, I assure you nothing they did involved showing you doggo as taller than they are in game. Just a search feature.

Can we talk about something even more important??  We need a way to view the imprints we ourselves put into trade chat lol.  You can only look at what the other guy has put into trade.  Im not memorizing name and look of every damn animal I grow.....

Im really looking forward to more pet revision mechanics like no more cryo sleep!!  Maybe they will let us make more than one copies of an animal or create an ADVANCED BIO incubator where you can tweak the genetics of imprints so you can alter specific things about animals but requires growing a new one.  (Like I would love to be able to alter kavat energy colors.)
