Is there an easier way to complete silver grove nightwave?

Question

Killing three specters is going to be incredibly time consuming. Going to earth and spending an hour in extermination or capture to scan the plants during the right time of day seems overly tedious. Anyone got a better way for those?

yes, look for a group in recruiting that has the apothic already made..

The grind for the parts of the apothic is real, but there are some quick ways of finding stuff if you know where to look.

For scanning i usually use a nuke equinox so i have my scanner out all the time and no need for shooting stuff.

The wiki shows the best places for scnanning.

Didn’t think about using equinox. I should do that.

It took me like 15 minutes from start to finish since I already had some leftover day cycle plants in my inventory. The only way you could possibly get #*!%ed is that if you need to wait for the next day/night cycle on Earth for the correct plants. Rest of them are incredibly easy to find and farm. You have the entire week to do the challenge.

My issue is how tedious it is. Alright guys go scan plants for 30 minutes or more. Then pray to RNGesus that you get the right tileset.

You can force specific tiles by playing Capture or Sabotage missions. At least on Earth both of the guaranteed big sabotage tiles have guaranteed plant spawns. Also a lot of dead end tiles have plants there and capture mission generally have massive maps with lots of dead ends. The plants on Lua, Mars and Corpus outpost tilesets spawn on nearly every outdoor tile. I can see that you haven't even tried farming any yet. The Grineer asteroid base tiles have set location that the moss spawns on every single time.

Plants do not appear on loot radar so I don't know how the Animal Instinct is relevant.

thats because you only quoted half my response.

The loot radar is for the caches specifically.

Thus if you can squeeze enough efficiency in your Limbomb you can kill all the enemies exclusively with Cataclysm which will also destroy crates....

Meaning you can go through the whole mission with the Scanner equiped... scanning plants as you see them. :)

I don't see how looking for 1k credit caches adds any efficiency to the farm. You might find a forma bp after 50 runs but honestly 2 runs were more than enough for all the plants I needed for the nightwave challenge.

It wasn't meant to add effeciency to farming a single thing....

Its to add effeciency into farming multiple things at once....

Farming one thing at a time is a sure fire way to get dissapointed.... thats why I always search for caches when im doing Void Sabotage....

But what do you actually gain from the caches or enemy drops? Credits? Common mods? Resources you already have millions of? At the point that you've completed the Silver Grove quest, regular sabotage missions or enemy drops offer you nothing new lmao.

The Link Mods.... you are likely to get atleast one of them before you have all the plants

More importantly the quest maybe complete and night wave maybe complete but The Knave Spectre will still be summonable....  meaning if you have the constitution for it you can farm Both Growing Power and Bite simultaneously.

Looks like we have the same plan. I have the link mods and bite and maul. but I was going to use my brand new Nekros to try to get growing power. But I need one more plant to get the nightfall apothic. Sigh. I actually have to do the Titania quest anyway, so... another frame! It's any of the guardians, right? That is, if I just do the three apothics and the quest that should do it, right?

I mean.... the quest versions of those spectres don't drop anything despite the fact that you have to use apothics to complete the quest... so.... yeah.... thats something to consider.

It should satisfy the nightwave challenge though.

really? that sucks. so to farm them you have to FARM them... man. I might just do the quest then and put the farm on my backlog of farms.

Quickguide for the silver grove scanning ~

You'll be needing 3 apothic.. and you will have to have completed the silver grove quest to do this.

I would suggest going in with a nuke equinox or ember and use your scanner.. ( if you run into problems , just drop a specter or go with a buddy that has a frame that complements the equinox ( rhino roar / equinox// ember)

Easiest stuff to build is the twilight apothic.:

WHat time is earth on nighttime?  (as this is different from plains of eidolon nighttime: click here to see night and day cycle for earth)

E-prime on earth, basically the first mission on Earth has the silver grove 99% spawned. Just equip the apothic in your gearwheel and the game will indicate when you are on the tileset with the silver grove sanctuary.

The fact that some people will complain about everything and anything is beyond me. I have over 500 plants from Ceres just from scanning the first 2, or last 2 , that spawn on nearly every mission. I have a tonne of the Earth one's just from scanning when i do a Mobile Defense, or a Lith fissure i can run around with Equinox afk killing while i scan along the way.

Literally takes next to no thinking to get the materials, and anyhow, you have a whole week in which to get them. Or do people forget that you need to actually work for some things?

Not really.... The nightfall Apothic is the important one because thats the one that Summons the Knave spectre which is the one that drops Growing power and Crimson Dervish.

You can grab it from the market....

Its only the other two apothics that are locked behind the quest....

Yes.

Spend some time between nightwaves collecting the required resources and building the required items.

Every time you visit earth, ceres etc.spend some time with a scanner equipped. Whether during a normal, a relic opening, a sortie etc. Easy.

It is not as if this "challenge" is a surprise.

Have fun and may RNG be forever in your favor.
