Why Founder exclusives aren't in the codex?

It's really boring explain to new players that Exca. Prime, lato and skana prime exists when they see ones in game. and I actually realized that it doesn't make sense that normal people can't see them in the codex, I can understand Umbra because he could be spoiler but I don't understand why Founder's exclusives are hidden.

Not that big an issue.  Plenty of games have pre-order or day one exclusives that info can't be found in game on.

I had thought the same thing, but if they see them in game wouldn't it have the same effect?

I come across players who have been playing for 2+ years and though Excalibur Prime was a myth until they actually seen someone playing with it.

I feel like the codex would be a good place to put that founder stuff and explain what the program was and how those items won't be available again.

Sad thing is DE basically did exactly that with The Sacrifice, Umbra is straight up better than Prime

Not really, only advantage Umbra has are the 3 Umbral Polarities of which only 2 are really useful and the Specter mode which isnt any real advantage. Aside form that they have the absolute same stats.

Its actually not just the founder exclusives - there are some weapons etc that don't appear in the codex until you own them.  I don't remember which as its been a long time but I remember when I was getting all the weapons I had a friend read off his list while I scrolled through mine to see what I was missing.

All event weapons/founder weapons are not included in the codex until you have access to them/own them. I believe this is entirely do to make it less of a problem for people that end up missing out of the event/worn't part of the founder program, as completionist's like me can still say 'I have fully completed the codex' with still missing those things, as there was no way for you to access them, so why dangle the stick in front of your face and then smack you with it when you look it up and realize you cant ever get it ever?

 

Though I do think they could implement some sort of 'reserves' codex for those items that keeps them there on the list so people can know to look out for rereleases of them. While the founder stuff they never will (or never should) re-release (in my opinion anyway), they have and do re-release event content so having access to a separate tab that's like 'look out for this stuff!' would be incredibly helpful.

 

But yeah, I fully think its just to prevent people from asking about it, and getting disipointed when they are told you cant get that right now/ever. Leave that for wiki's/fellow players not the in game codex!

I think it's bullS#&$ that we can link event parts without owning them (such as Imperator Vandal Barrel/Reciever) but we can't link the item itself unless we own it.

If only they would do that with the dojo... stupid solar rail... (ignis wrath can suck it too)

Yeahhhh I think the major reason they dont do that is they'd have to do some sort of system to allow large clans the ability to vote on something that major being hidden from existing and new members. Though yes, it would be nice for we little ghost clans of just a few friends to be able to hide the stuff like solar rails sense we are never going to be able to do them/go after anything. (Ignis wraith can at least get the blueprint from other clans though, but yeah didn't participate in that either so hidding that would indeed be nice...)

Because someone complained back in the day about Founder and Closed Beta Vandal items being in the Codex. Yes I'm not kidding you, I'll never forget the thread.

I was talking about in the clan research window. They are currently not possible to get. So its just annoying that it tells me the room is x-1 / x. Solar rail wouldn't be shown anywhere else and should just be hidden by default until it is reactivated. Ghost clans can research even if they never use it. Ignis Wrath should never be hidden from profile because it is so easy to get, just the chem lab since it will prob never be open for clans to get again.

Same here. It was cool as a new player seeing people who've played for a long time think he's a myth. Now I'm almost 500 hours deep, and the myths and lore are starting to fade 😢
