Grineer Themed Warframe, Bastion

"My Queens, we have recently gathered enough resources to replicate a warframe of our very own. Unfortunately, we only have the materials to create one. It is of utmost importance to keep this warframe a secret, for we can not let the Lotus discover this. We will try to research and replicate this model. We urge you NOT to use this for combat, it's preservation is the key to true Grineer Super-Soldiers, rivaling that of the Orokin's themselves."

Above is what I think is how a Grineer based warframe can exist in-canon. The Grineer have managed to create ONE warframe (the suit of course) and are attempting to find ways to mass produce it. We have all seen suggestions for such a warframe, but none of them seem to really work or fit in-canon. Well here is my swing on it

let's start with it's abilities

1. Seekers - Bastion throws several seekers that will latch onto enemies based on priority. These enemies will glow and notify all players of their presence. If the enemy is not killed within a few seconds, the seekers will detonate, dealing massive damage to the target.

This is basically friendly Grineer Latchers. Despite the fact that they explode, they are NOT AoE. The main idea is these seekers will latch on to targets based on how dangerous they are, and make them glow like mods with thief's wit. The priority is (type of enemy-level-current health). That means a level 59 Grineer heavy gunner will get priority over a level 60 Lancer, while a level 59 Grineer heavy gunner at full health gets priority over the Level 59 Bombard with half health.

2. Flashbang- Bastion throws a stun grenade, stunning nearby enemies and dealing little damage.

If you're looking at flashbang like a real grenade, you're doing it wrong. the tiny AoE is simply gravy for your mash potatoes, and is barely noticeable. Think of it at Ash's smokescreen mixed with Vauban's grenades. It is a great way to get a group of enemies off a friend's back without jumping into the fray yourself.

3. Phalanx - Bastion gets his team into a formation, fortifying their defenses. Upon staying in formation, damage is reduced. Damage reduced depends on how close members are.

Phalanx is probably the one skill that discourages rushers but without removing the ability to rush. If all 4 team mates are huddled close to each other, they can receive a significant damage resistance. However, ANY member can form a "formation', so it is possible to split into teams of 2 to receive less damage resistance, but be in more places at once.

4. Combat Formation Bravo- Bastion instantly kills every living entity in the entire map.

Just kidding.

4. Barrage - Bastion activates his jetpack, hovering himself above the ground and releases a barrage of missiles upon his foes.

Think of it as a Hellion missile strike. Despite having a jet pack, you move significantly slower, and can only hover. However, you get to control where the missiles go and when to shoot them. Note that while you are in flight, you are NOT invincible but will take reduce damage. To prevent this ability from completely backfiring, you can not hurt yourself with your own missiles.

I don't like 3 or 4 at all, 2 seems too much like a ranged smokescreen or radial blind, 1 is pretty cool though. I'm not too keen on the lore of the Grineer building a Warframe but I did like the description of it not being used for combat to help it be kept a secret.

Nice concepts, flash bang seems a little redudant considering as mentioned two frames already blind enemies, it could perhaps be altered to a targetable ranged emp to disable shields or weapons for a brief time, this would still make the enemies more vulnerable but do so in a more unique fashion.

Phalanx might be a little awkward to coordinate, even more so whilst moving, realy any ability that is based on player positioning is going to encountered problems because people dont generaly stop still for too long, can't realy think of a decent 'fix' for this so perhaps just change it a standard aoe like the rhino roar.

Barrage, hovering seems like it would make you an easy target, i'd sugest scrapping the jetpack and just having the missiles fire upwards then home onto nearby targets automaticly.

Personally I think phalanx is fine, but I did a poor job explaining. The idea is you don't actually have to be VERY close to each other, simply somewhat nearby to benefit. If you're on the other side of the map, obviously you don't benefit. But if you're in the range of lets say a saryn's miasma, phalanx is active. Edited by KaPow_Best_Demolitions
