Witchydragon
It seems like nowadays, many matches are made up exclusively of high skill players. That's to be expected, since Conclave is a few years old now, and there haven't been any fundamental mechanic changes besides melee 2.9 to shake things up. Unfortunately, 8 high speed ninjas with extremely high damage weapons (it seems like PvE buffs have not been re-balanced for PvP for the past year or so) is more frustrating than challenging. Trying to play more defensively- staying on the side lines of fights and waiting for other to start fights- doesn't work very well in one's favor either, as it's extremely common for kills to get stolen, or for the sideline player to get mowed down unsuspectingly due to fast spawns and faster movement. This is especially true on smaller maps like Docks (Grineer Underwater). I think that public FFA's max player count should be reduced to 5 or 6, in order to make these kinds of matches less frustrating and chaotic. Some chaos can be fun and leads to novel game experiences like crazy multikills and unlikely escapes, but 8 high skill players is too chaotic. SevenLetterKWord
Okay, but there's a lot of variability in map size. What happens when your shrunken lobbies end up in Compound or Gas Works, which are twice the size of Docking Bay and can feel empty even with 8 players? For an idealistic alternative, maps could be dynamic. Peripheral areas start locked off, only becoming accessible when enough players join. More realistically, respawn timers on small maps could adapt to player count, increasing when many players are present.
--Q--ualityContent
Reducing playercount in the only game mode which allows a high playercount... Brutal. You know maybe the RC is the problem and not the playercount. RC in conclave is based of rank and not K/D or kills in general so maybe matchmaking should be improved and not "nerfing" a group experience. Also regarding dynamic map size, I really don't expect DE to be able to pull it off for conclave as it would be a completely new system and require some R&D on their side. And also considering that "new" gas works is still a bloom mess which is neither a good index map or conclave map. God that map has so many issues.
