F2A needs improvements

Hello Tenno!

 

I am glad that the majority of players are now using 2FA in order to secure their accounts.

But using email as a 2FA is way too slow and uncomfortable, compared to using an app, such as Authy or Google Authenticator.

I know that this would be a lot of work, but please consider making this possible.

How often do you use other computers to play on? óÒ
And don't you have a smartphone on you for checking your email?

About once a month, since a move quite frequently and I have to use different ISP's/PC's/VPN's and so on.

Of course I use smartphone, but It's much easier to have all of your 2FA tokens at one place, not spread between different email addresses. Besides, not everyone uses F2A/secure passwords for their email address, and not everyone is using Gmail/Outlook or other big email provider that provides the necessary security to their accounts.

But that's not on the 2FA, that's on the people that use insecure stuff.
Btw. it's funny that you think that Gmail would be a good option for email.

Very little people would use 2FA if DE didn't asked them to use it. It is their job to guide the players to use safer methods, instead of old and autdated services.

Gmail is good (if not the best) option for email client and provider that would serve the purpose of getting messages for the games that you play. If you don't think that way, please explain why.
