Praise Weekend! A weekend dedicated to celebrating a certain Warframe or entire Faction!

I have an idea for a Warframe weekend event that's compatible with all platforms. The general idea of the weekend of the event is about "Praising" a specific Warframe (or even an entire faction)

Hello, Tenno. I am BananaBlack and I've been playing Warframe for a long time. I love Warframe and I love coming up with ideas for Warframe. I especially love pulling things from others games and seeing how they can be incorporated into Warframe. 

 

I had an idea which stems from various games for a fun recurring weekend event geared relatively evenly to newer players and players that are more settled in the game.

 

To start I want to mention that all values can be discussed and constructive criticism is welcome! I'd love to hear your ideas too.

 

 

My idea is this... I will continue as if the event is for a single Warframe for simplicity...

 

A random Warframe, that may be voted on in advance and can normally be achieved closer to earlier game play than later game play, is praised for a weekend.

The details-

Easier to obtain

- The "Praised" Warframe becomes slightly easier to obtain; If components drop from separate missions, their drop chances are increased. If the parts are bought for standing, they may cost slightly less.

- All components may have a slightly smaller resource requirement.

- Component craft times and final Warframe craft times are greatly reduced for the weekend (to allow one to obtain and use the Warframe in the weekend)

 

The benefits, bonuses, challenges, and rewards

- Using the Praised Warframe in any mission grants Credit/Resource boost as well as an Affinity booster on the Warframe to level it quicker.

- Praised Warframe and all variants are buffed slightly in every stat.

- New Alert-style Universal Bounties (similar to Nightwave tasks) are active for whole event. They are centered around the Praised Warframe and completing tasks with them, such as getting a certain number of kills, traversing a certain distance, getting enough finishers, getting a certain amount of damage using abilities, etc., which upon completion grant an exclusive Warframe specific cosmetic! *Touched on later*

 

Discounts

- Praised Warframe and their cosmetics, such as alternate helmets, immortal skins, stances, noggles, etc., are discounted and may also show up as rewards in alerts for a short time during event.

-Augments for them are discounted and any other attachment or gear for that Warframe is also more available.

 

 

The Thoughts-

With the growing number of Warframes by the update, and more to come, I think it’s becoming an ever-growing mess and headache for new players to choose which Warframe they want to get. Increasing the drop chances and temporarily increasing the number of players using the praised Warframe makes for a fun opportunity for newer players to feel motivated to progress in the Star Chart and farm a hard mission to get a Warframe they don’t have yet!

 

This may also be appealing for players that have already gotten the praised Warframe because the bonuses you have while using that Warframe may be very helpful. Players that don’t play the Praised Warframe might be encouraged to dust them off and break them out for the weekend, possibly changing their view on that Warframe and in-turn enjoy them more going forward.

 

Players also have the opportunity to unlock a cool highly exclusive cosmetic for the Praised Warframe that others will be able to see.

The cosmetic is an evolution from earning an event Emblem that no one uses, and instead is some sort of slight visible alter to the praised Warframe whenever you use that Warframe which shows that you completed their task(s) for the weekend event;

- Could be a subtle trail effect that doesn’t interfere with Ephemera but gives your Warframe a visible glow, could be a new helmet for that Warframe that takes one of the existing helmets and alters the model slightly to make it look cooler or more thematically extreme based on the Warframe (more stealthy or menacing), could be an entirely new exclusive helmet or skin, could be a Warframe specific Syandana that also compliments the Warframes theme.

 

Imagine an exclusive cosmetic that anyone can get if they put in the work, cant be gotten after the event, looks awesome and cant be used on other Warframes...

 

 

Other Benefits..

Aside from the things I've already talked about, this is a good marketing opportunity to release a few ads about the event and potentially get more people interested if they weren't already. 

And this will more than likely result in a large amount of Platinum spent by those frugal Tenno who like new and shiny things that are on sale...

 

Some alternate directions-

Another possible structure for this event is to have it be a week long and tone down the benefits and rewards.

A different theme could be "Praise the Corpus" or "Praise the Orokin" that are centered around gear form those factions.

Conclusion!

The possibilities for this weekend event are vast and have a high potential to bring in new players. This could also be complimented by offering discounts on platinum packages and maybe some more goodies to new players.

 

I feel as though Warframe doesn't have enough content like this which is time limited to one weekend, and isn't structured by doing a single mission a few times for the same common rewards, like a potato and an emblem, and being done with that event after an hour. This type of event brings excitement and preparation, it is ongoing, it doesn't need to be bum-rushed (but still could be), and benefits all.

 

Inb4 - This is a horrible idea because then everyone will have this frame and it will be used way too much going forward.

- I don't believe this will be a problem. Many players will already have this frame and will just be breaking it out for the weekend to have fun and get some more resources, credits, and other rewards.

- Newer players will be encouraged to go for a new frame if they aren't comfortable breaking out of their small circle of easy to use, early-game Warframes.

- Sure the Warframe will have a slightly higher play count following the event because of the exclusive cosmetic and the residual effects of breaking out an old Warframe, rebuilding it, and wanting to have more fun with it... but that happens any time a new Warframe get's released, a new Prime gets released, or a rework drops. The effects of this Praise Event most likely wont last as long as the latter on that list usually do..

 

Another potential gripe is "If everyone is using the same Warframe in every mission then Warframe will be broken for the whole weekend"...

Again I believe this wont be the case. This will generally only effect public game play. Just about every public match will have this Warframe considering the benefits you will get. (Not the case if several Warframes or Weapons from a certain faction are being praised)

BUT there will still be an active recruiting chat full of players that are either done with the event, don't care for the event, or want to take a break from the event who are looking for specific Warframes for other content.

Weekend of Excalibur, when?

The idea overall sounds great, the only few problems I see are :

• Temporary buff on warframe stats may be gamebreaking, allowing some builds that wouldn't possible outside of this weekend and making some content easier for a short period. That's not necessarily a big deal, but for example, the even being around Chroma could make Eidolon/Orb fight sighly faster, allowing people to make a new world record only during this period, and this may not please people giving attention to the leaderboard.
• All warframe cosmetic getting discount someday mean a large amount of people will wait for these discounts to buy stuff, pretty much like we wait for alerts to get alt helmets bp, so this could be sale loss at some point. I don't how everyone work with this kind of stuff, but me and a lot of people I know would actually do that.
• Had a 3rd point but forgot while writing, it and don't want to edit they way I write this down, so here is 3rd point XD

About cosmetic reward, il would be cool to give each warframe something in the accessory slot fitting the warframe, like Nekros mortos and Valkyr bond. I have a few ideas about this I may draw later.

INB4 the competent minority keep bashing their heads and yelling "-Pick Ivara or Nidus, you twats" while the 8th Rhino weekend is about to commence.

Overall it's a no for me. The event brings nothing new and just gives more stuff. The same as this weekend's and did anybody enjoy the busywork?

I don't think any of the buffs and discounts have to be substantial.

Increasing the speed, energy, and maybe HP/Shields by just 10% doesn't seem like it would do too much harm for the time of the event. Just increase the ease of use and QoL for that Warframe. I CAN see, however, that the new players getting the frame for the first time might really enjoy the Warframe during the event, but then feel deterred from using them once the temp. buffs are removed. Maybe the temp. buffs are only given to prime variants then? That could fix that.

And I can see how it might cause some residual decrease is market purchases with people waiting for the next event. So maybe they create new cosmetic packs that are on a 10% discounted price from buying each item individually. Maybe a pack consisting of an alt. helmet or two, an immortal skin, a noggle, and a display/glygh or something.

Well, Mr.Optimist, seeing as this is a celebration themed event I don't see why increasing the time frame to a week, or even longer, would be a problem. The event would just have to limit the increase in accessibility of the praised Warframe. Works well though if the event is celebrating a faction!

Also, just about every event in Warframe already IS locked into a specific small time window.. Some are not so small which is why I suggested a slightly longer time-frame

The celebration event would literally bring a single new cosmetic to the game.

The idea is to go away form the standard tactical alert event which is only busy work on a single repeating mission.

'Praise Warframe' takes elements from Nightwave in that you can do the tasks where you like and when you like. Its more geared towards newer players anyways as well
