MR or Star chart progression

Helbent11

Question

So I’ve got MR6, and an currently working through Jupiter/Saturn. However, I have hit the point where it is becoming more difficult to progress the star chart and level new gear at the same time. So my question is: what should I be focused on? Should I take some leveled gear so I can progress the star chart and just sacrifice the MR progress? Or hang out in the lower areas I already unlocked so I can continue to grind MR efficiently? I have tried just running in groups, and when I can find one that works great but they aren’t always available and I am not sure if I am hurting myself by running solo with some leveled gear.

if you're having difficulty, then your focus should be on mods that increase attack/defense than anything else. Stuff like Serration, Hornet Strike and Redirection/Vitality should be focused on at this time, as the benefits they give are vast and a key part of mid game, let alone end game.

True, and by mr6 you should have pretty op weapons make some than you can farm lvls on helene in saturn for 15 waves to get max, better when in public matchmaking

That’s been my focus, but with my current MR, starting over with a new weapon or frame means I don’t have the capacity to equip them (plus the credits to constantly upgrade them and buy/build new gear gets to be a hindrance as well). I have essentially ping-pinged back and forth between planets trying to get gear far enough to put on my upgraded mods and then go back to progressing the chart. Makes progress on the chart slow but means I’m never missing out on potential MR.

I agree with GinKenshin and say focus on the star chart. You might even find that getting past Jupiter will get a bit easier and let you go back to leveling (as that place recently got an update to be a lot harder but the areas after it possibly not). But in either case id focus on filling out the star chart, even without leveling weapons just doing that does give you MR anyway (completing uncompleted nods gives you MR exp), and will give you access to all the better nods to to do some proper MR/exp grinding. If even you start having trouble with your leveled gear, THEN id focus on grinding MR for better weapons and such, but id see how far you can get and what stuff you can unlock first!

By the "capacity" you mean free slots? You can sell old weapons to free some (sell only those you have maxed out to level 30!), or you  can buy them via plat. You can get plat by opening relics and then sell received content via https://warframe.market, for 20 plat you'll get 2 weapon or 1 warframe slots.

Get yourself Atomos, it's MR5 and will help you drastically. If you feel lucky, you can farm Jackal on Venus for exclusive [Ruinous Extension] mod which will make Atomos weapon you'll never forget.

Thanks! That makes sense, and running with my maxed gear should be plenty to run the couple of current nodes that were giving me trouble. I’ll try to just keep one piece leveling and run the rest with my maxed gear.

Sorry, I meant mod capacity not slots for new weapons. I’ll take a look at atomos, I was going to need a new secondary soon anyway.

My advice is - choose a good and confortable warframe, primary, secondary and melee, potato them(you should have access to potatoes even without plat if you do your nightwave and potato alerts till now) and forma.
Until you reach Hydron on Sedna - IO on Jupiter or Helene on Saturn are the best places to level you warframe/weapon "fast" imo - always public for the shared affinity.
Easy credits before Index or the orb fight are dark sector defence/survival missions - 5 minutes give 25k credits, more than that is diminishing returns, only the first 5 minutes give the 25.They are also good for leveling in a way because some of them give bonus affinity for wielding melee or pistol - look at the description on the node.
When you are accustomed to your weapons and you gather enough mods you will be able to clear the starchart with ease and will gather more warframes. You could let them sit ready in your foundry for the moment you could potato them and begin to master them as well.

Why do you want mr tho except for the more syndicate standing cap?

Would encourage you to try and get through the Starchart with good guns, as said by those above.

If you want to power grind MR you can do it at a later date on certain EXP farm spots that unlock later.

Capacity directly related to item's level. At max it's 30, and you can double it right away with Catalyst/Reactor (aka "potatoes", costs 20 plat or obtainable via invasions/events). When you insert mods, keep an eye for polarity of slots (of there any) and polarity of mods. When they are matched, mod capacity requirement is halved. For frames there are Aura mods, they are opposite: for matching polarity they double capacity bonus for this particular warframe.

There will be Devstream today, 2 p.m. ET. Right after that there are usually 2 or 3 alerts with potato, mods and other stuff. Don't forget to hop into stream for a chance of 1000 plat.

Both. Just take ur favourite weapon, put in potato, some formas and buy/farm a few must have mods. Even with hek ur can do almost high tier content, so ur game will be much more easier.

Dont forget, last planets have mr gates about 8, so ur still need leveling ur mr.

Didn't see this mentioned; don't forget about the Syndicate Missions as well. I think they are a great way to level up weapons and your warframe. They are relatively easy, most are low-level and you get help from Santas Little Helpers and if you find "seeds and stuff," the rewards can be nice.

I had this same confusion, but most general missions aren't much good for levelling your gear.

Yes, and pretty soon you'll get way to keep using that affinity (when you get to Neptune).

On missions take your best gear and don't worry about it.

To level gear go to the highest level Grineer defence you can reach. Join a team and let them get kills. On Hydron (Sedna) with a booster you can max a frame + full gear in about 20 mins, so this is something that will get much easier.

Don't worry about 'wasted' affinity too much - you're missing out on small numbers when you'll soon have ways to get much more.
