Jax_Cavalera
Problem Currently in game, new players that are getting started have often expressed their annoyance with the game forcing them into single player mode right off the bat. All progress is essentially locked behind single player quests that they simply keep avoiding because it's boring, they joined to play with friends and it's very hard talking them through those quests without being there to help. Solution Allow players to do this stuff coop so their friends... the people they signed up to play with... can actually do that more. If in a squad, the entire squad goes into the mission If solo, it works as Invite Only basis. Does not include the very first opening sequence mission where you choose your frame. Exlodian_Akitora
Well its good to do something like this, as I would help in sections people get stuck on,or just having fun with pals. But keep in mind that they dont want to do something like this, as they want it to make it about your operators story, that its they're the main focus. Not to mention how much time and effort they would need to put into the game to make that possible to do, slowing down any process for any other major update.

That's a fair point, I would say that out of all the friends over the years that I've gotten to join up playing warframe this has consistently been the number 1 reason why they stop playing. They get tired of having to go off solo and do something just so they can keep playing in more missions etc. with me.. or we end up doing the same missions over and over because they have refused to do the solo stuff due to how inexplicably dull and time consuming it is. (their words). As a vet player i can easily do that stuff in no time and enjoy the little tidbit of story we get along with it, it's nice to do, but for new players just wanting to hang out and do new things with friends.. it's seen as nothing more than a blocker in their way. If DE want to improve new player retention further, this could be something worth their time and investment, For cut-scenes they can simply have the friends vanish so it's like they were never there, and for any dialog same deal.. have things still directed at the main player. We know it's for just that player to complete, it's their quest so it makes sense to have dialog remain unchanged. If quests are about telling a story, then enemy difficulty and balance should be secondary concerns. Edited July 27, 2019 by Jax_Cavalera
Velothed
Seconded, I get why they can't redo all of the quests, but a simple solution like @Jax_Cavalera proposed would do nicely.
Jax_Cavalera
Thanks, Yes there would be certain parts of a quest that only work for a single player. Spoiler When you first get your human When you go up against excal umbra The final part to Octavia's mission (maybe) likely a few others Though for the most part, allowing friends to do this together especially in the earlier bits seems quite important to me from the standpoint of encouraging players to help players through the stuff that's still a little clunky despite DE's best efforts at improving on-boarding with lengthy tutorials and cut scenes. I regularly see players asking questions like, "what do I do with x module in my ship" or "how do I use the mod things it's asking me to use" or "how can I upgrade a mod" .. "what's endo" I mean it's pretty basic stuff .. but legit these are the things they ask about and in mission it's usually "where do I go?" or "so should i kill X or do I just stay at Y" they don't know what a specific blip colour is or even notice initially that there are blips in a mini-map. I get we could focus on just continuing to improve the tutorials system.. but surely that work could be complimented by a change like this for suitable missions?
