ISMW
If my memory tells me truth, there was a time when warframes abilities was represented by cards, there were more mod slots for cards. Since introducing Adaptation mod to the game I noticed that many enemies started to deal much more damage than before. Im not sure, but this seems a bit wrong way to balance 'things" in the game, because now on a high level missions (>80) some enemies deals so much damage, that without this mod almost every warframe in the game just dies in a seconds. So it takes one mod slot on a high level missions anyway, due to that is not only one defensive mod that should be placed into warframe to survive, I suggest to add a "DEFENSIVE" mod slot that could contain only health/armour/shields/evasion/resistance/health conversion/quick thinking mods, becouse many of builds are suffering now due to the lack of space in purpose of just not die every 5 seconds. I want to add here some problem of the same type but with weapons. You should now about some weapons that are not very popular i would say. But there are realy good syndycate mods(nice example here would be vulkar that would get second such mod at the Emissary night wave) for them that could make them better, so maybe adding "special" mod slot for syndicate and others special only for exact weapon mods(excluding rivens obviously) would help this weapons to find their owners. Example of frost build that could not survive high levels without of any of defensive mods(stel fiber, adaptation, vitality cant be removed for sure) Vulkar build screaming :"I want to have combined elemental damage!" Not a topic of this post, but do something with Vazarin polarity for weapons, exactly for secondary. It looks like kind of fun. I know there are 3 more, but they are conclaive only. blata45
I would love to see the mod system reworked but i'm afraid that DE will probably never do it because mods are a very sensitive and an essential system, one small mistake and the game will be even more broken than it is now and the community will certainly be not happy about that. Reworking a core game mechanic will take a lot of time and consideration and reviewing tens of thousands of community suggestions. And DE is kinda lazy to do all of that but i still believe that one day it will happen.

Pretty much essential norm is the right description, in its current state, weapon builds are basically EXTREMELY nichie to almost the exact same loadouts with only elemental mods being the constant shuffle and maybe only the 8th mod probably having room to toggle out, With only if a weapon having no reason to be built for crit at all, to help sway changing up its design more, which might just turn into replacing point strike & vital sense, to having 2 more elemental mods for either damage stacking or to multi-element even more. At best, one of the things they COULD do, is scrap mods that get used way too often and just innately add the stats they provide into stuff by default, granted that would be a very limited list, but it would at least grant mod space room so instead of likely 1 slot (which can easily get taken over by a riven mod), people could have 2 or even 4 mod slots for actual customization to be done to setups for people to tailor into builds with more personal design, though sadly with warframes in general, that would just end up with people cramming more augur/gladiator/etc. mods in to min/max war frame abilities even harder. Drachnyn
If you have space for armored agility and gladiator aegis you cant complain about too few modslots because those 2 mods are bad.
blata45
For weapons the only mods that can be scrapped are going to be the base damage damage mods : serration ; pressure point , point blank , hornet strike and rubedo lined barrel alongside cutting edge ( for arch-guns and arch-melee) and adding their damage buffs directly into those weapons base stats since scrapping any other mods can actually do more harm than good for example weapons that can be built for either crit or status will become super op even more op than the current meta weapons and it won't do anything to help out the less used weapons, since the power cap has been raised the benefits those weapons got will change nothing as players have higher expectations now for how weapons will perform. And this is going to mess up the riven market prices over night and no one is going to be happy about their rivens suddenly becoming irrelevant since the once popular weapons are now overshadowed by other weapons and what about the primed base damage mods like primed pressure point and primed point blank? they add 165% extra damage to their weapons much more than their normal counter parts what will happen to those? are they going to reduce the amount of extra damage they offer? since basic damage mods have already been built into weapons? or remove them and upset everyone who spent money and time upgrading them? what about the difficultly of content will this remove the challenge from the game at higher levels? everyone is going to simply add as much DPS as they could to weapons, barely anyone cares about customization. On top of that most squishy frames cant really use adaptation anyway because they dont survive the initial hits. They have to use their abilities to CC or kill to survive. Frames that have low initial armor should use guardian arcanes. And instead of steel fiber they should use other defensive mods, like quick thinking or health conversion or whatever
