Couple of things in game use sound to indicate where something is comeig from. Demolysts and conservation namely. However I can not at all tell what direction the sound comes from, it means nothing to me. To be honest I'm not sure I've ever heard the demolyst sound noise but I assume I wouldn't be able to recognize it's direction either. Dose anyone else have this problem and is there anything that can help with it?

Jump towards a door.

Does it get louder? 

Yes: keep going and cut it off early.

No: race back.

I also don't play music to clutter the sound.

Use good headphones if you can, or surround sound.

Are you talking about some physiological issues or just sound output problems with your PlayStation?

yeah, pinpointing a Demolyst Location can be tricky, especially solo as you can only guard one doorway at a time. I definitely recommend squadding up as not only can a team cover more points, you can also deal way more damage to the Demolyst and kill it faster before it reaches a Conduit.

if for whatever reason you have to go solo, keep checking each doorway in succession and if the sound gets louder, head further in that direction and the Demolyst should be there.

I suspect it may be the latter. I feel I can distinguish a sounds source ok in real life.
