warframe server maintenance: if you extract?

is there any cited confirmation that we lose all mission progress and mission loot if we extract during server maintenance?

i realize server maintenance it is usually short but someone was saying they had lost progress before when they extracted during maintenance.

i have never experienced loss of progress due to this so i just wanna know if you actually DO lose progress for that mission if u extract from that mission while server maintenance is going on and incomplete.

someone told me they lost progress and loot before when they extracted before server maintenance was complete so that is why i'm curious.

It depends on what they're doing really. As long as you're game can communicate with the loot server(s) then it should be fine but not knowing exactly what they're doing it's impossible to tell and given the warning whatever it is is probably going to disrupt their network to some extent.

Essentially if you leave and keep your stuff after being warned you got lucky.

It's a definite probably. Does it really need confirmation when they expressly say to stay in your missions.

In short if you do leave during that period don't be surprised if your account doesn't get updated with data from the previous mission and you lose that progress. If it does then you got lucky.

I mean I've been playing for years and the only loss of progress and/or loot i have experienced is from random crashes, restarting the game and ending up with nothing to show for it. Which just happened to me the other day now that I think about it in those stupid missions to get 100 score or whatever it was called.

Anyway, broken record here but again I have not experienced loss of loot and progress due to extraction during server maintenance but I heard someone claim it was so.

So for me, it definitely needs confirmation from a cited source because it seems pretty important to know if you really do or do not lose loot/mission progress if you extract during server maintenance as some random claimed it does.

If DE is warning you in-game not to extract from your mission during maintenance, I don't think you're going to find a more official source.

To put it plainly, they don't post the message because they're bored.  While it may not always happen, there's enough of a chance that they warn you (let's be honest, this game can be very buggy, why risk it?)

Basically, it's something that *can* happen.  Most of the time it apparently doesn't and the game just trundles along.  The point of the message is that if you extract during the update, you're rolling the dice.  It might save your progress.  It might not.  (Server busy, version mismatch, progress server is actually offline for a moment and not even listening.)

I've been in Defense missions where everyone else clicked Extract anyway, and mostly gotten away with it.  I have a completely unrelated networking bug (probably a firmware or OS problem on my system, I've never been able to track it down) and sometimes lose progress just by extracting anyway.  If I'm lucky and it was a fissure mission the game might catch it, and Ordis will mail me *most* of the relic drops, but otherwise I lose everything from the mission when it happens.  XP, resources, mods.  *Poof*  And at this point my options for fixing it seem to be "save up to build a new computer and hope it doesn't do that."  😞

It definitely matters what they are doing. A few years ago they changed the way their database works, which allowed them to make some types of hotfixes and not be required to take the database offline for the few minutes it updates. Prior to that database change/update, every single hotfix, you would lose your mision data  if you extracted during the update, pretty much guaranteed everytime.

Now it's definitely possible to not lose data depending on what they are doing and your exact timing at extract, however you don't have any idea what they are doing in any particular hotfix and you have no idea if that hotfix actually requires any server being offline. They keep the "stay in the mission" for all the updates still afaik for obvious reasons. imo It's just better people don't get complacent and get used to extracting willy nilly and not reading whether that particular redtext said stay in the mission or not
