Nightwave Theory on Devotees

Just a little bit of spoilers regarding the composition of Warframes and what they're made out of as well as info about the infested door, and a part in The Sacrifice.

Devotees some of have seen them when we went downed during a mission, maybe you've seen them when your fellow Tenno left you to count down the timer as they went on to collect reactant, maybe you were hit by a stray Ogris missile by that sneaky Bombard, and that's when they materialize in front of you with their strange Lantern with the Hot Dog sticking out of the bottom, Devotee, a disciple of Arlo that comes to your aid and revives you. But why? Why do they go out of their way to aid you? So far we know that Arlo 'heals' people as Nora puts it, but the sick appear to have to go to him, as seen in the Act 2 Diorama where the sick are lined up to Arlo.

Well my father @Setzer_G came up with a theory during a conversation. Perhaps they require the Helminth's infested flesh from the Warframes because the infested that have allied or been taken control of by Arlo have begun to decay from taking in too much Grineer flesh, which we know are decaying due to the Grineer's flaws in cloning technology and base DNA have been corrupted.

However the Helminth Virus was a nice clean Orokin strain used to create the Warframes and it's not infected with Grineer decay. So we believe that the Devotees go out of their way to save us because they need the fresh uncorrupted strain of infested to keep them going and alive. Keeping us alive so that we may be of use later.

This is a theory of course and I would like to hear other Tenno's thoughts and opinions on this and any criticism or key details we might have missed. Discussion on this would be great!

Edit: thanks for editing (now that's wat I call meta)

Regarding the theory:

Interesting idea. This would make their... I don't know what to call them... "tools" some sort of extractors. I can see that. Don't know if it's because of the Grineer flesh thing... Actually, I've got an idea. Maybe they want helminth samples to make their own warframe-like soldiers?

I expect a virus from the Devotees, something that would infect our frames with a new type of cyst, maybe something that may end up with us getting a new infested Sentinel or Kavat.

Yeah I've been waiting for Cyst 2.0 to pop up aaaany day now lol

If you check out the description of the Operator Suit reward for lvl 30 it says something along the lines of "Look like one of arlos devotees" . So yea, your dad and everyone else who read this thinks about this theory in the same way you do since the deacription is a big spoiler.

the strain running arlo probably has this messed up idea that all will be fine if everyone gets turned into warframes (nidus, more specifically). it might be a variant of the helminth, as people have suggested.

but something also tells me that arlo himself has been made mute by the strain: if he spoke he'd blow the lid on the strain's whole gambit, and the strain can't let that happen. so, season endgame prediction: arlo will just barely break through that control and directly ask to be killed. that's why we have the old guy from cetus as arlo's spokesman: he's the useful idiot.
