Really it's the one you like the most. They all have pro and cons vs the various factions making no one the "best" per say. The one you like to play the most is the "best". Unless your goign to get hyper focused on numbers and efficiency in the highest levels it's not really enough to worry about. Every frame and weapon works good enough on enemies 80 and below to not really that much better or worse.

If we talk about efficiency - the best is Saryn. A magnificent tank that scales with the level. Gorgeous DPS, which are rescaled with your gameplay. It really destroys everything. Destroy opponents, their attention to themselves, fun for themselves and the whole group.

Best in terms of, which frame can handle the most number of game-modes well.. I'd say it will be something with good CC, DPS either itself or by boosting weapons to have it and that can take a hit or 2.

  • erm actually you know what.. it's probaby easier to simply point out the ones that aren't that good coz the list of "best" frames is really quite long.

Frames that are less versatile in play-style (lacking in either CC, DPS or Tankiness / Dmg Negation

  • Ember
  • Banshee
  • Ash
  • Mirage (she's got a lot of strength but is the very definition of a glass cannon with no real easy way to mitigate that damage properly
  • Hydroid
  • Garuda
  • I'm on the fence about it coz he's got some good talents and can tank and DPS but has pretty marginal CC.... Chroma
  • Maybe Harrow.. i never did anything with it after maxing it out (same with Wukong and Inaros) those frames seemed to be just inadequate compared to others out there at CC/DPS/Tanking where they do 1 or 2 well and maybe the 3rd ok at best if at all.

a "best" frame doesnt really exist unless were talking enduracne runs. not every frame can do them, especially solo but thats not content which is a basis to judge a frame. its fair to judge based on whats intended to be played, starchart and around sortie level in considering that nearly every frame has its pros/cons. i thinks its safer to say that there are few frames which do fall short in comparison right now, in my opinion being atlas, vauban, titania, valkyr and ember.

yes, valkyr (i love valkyr dont get me wrong) because valkyr sadly only really has 1 single build thats really great which is for eternal war and also allows to use hysteria. sadly she has 2 totally useless abilities which make her very straight forward: tank damage, press hysteria in a clutch scenario and other than that melee ur way through enemies. it works, yea, it works well...but shes not diverse and other frames can basically do the same even without her armor/attack speed steroid. nova can do the same and is even more tanky. slow enemies by 75% and u dont really need such an attack speed buff, just to name another frame as an example which is not innately designed as a melee power house. even ember works as good due to wof heat proccs cc and instance for CO which does mean something for a frame thats supposed to be a melee monster.

in the end u can play all frames and its raelly hard to name a best generally, though there are some which do lack a bit in comparison but these comparisons are also dependant on the exact builds. as i said i love valkyr but i do think she needs a 2019 touchup, i still play her considerably much so even "lacking" doesnt mean a frame cant be played well. its not really a good idea to ask for "best" frame since u wont really get a de facto answer.

When all's said and done, asking 'what's the best frame' is like asking... 'what's the best Magic: The Gathering deck'

Literally no such thing. You might have the best frame for doing something specific, but that specific thing doesn't apply in a lot of other cases.

The questions you should always ask are:

  1. What do you want to do?
  2. Are you going in a team?
  3. Is another frame a little worse at it, but more fun to play?
  4. Can I just meme it?

That's it. If you find a frame that fits after those four questions, use that frame.

Valkyr has the same problems as Titania. Its 4 ability to bad, she uses too many energy wasted. Invulnerability has some vulnerability where you can take damage if there is an enemy nearby and it would be a good separate ability with a duration so that at the end of the ability the player has to hide from enemies. And her claws are just claws. Yes, they are powerful, but they do not have anything special compared to the weapons that we use usually and that we can strengthen. I do not understand the idea of a sublime weapon, which is no different from the usual. Yes, I know that claws can heal, but that's no surprise now.

The most consistently versatile is probably Gara or Octavia. Gara has massive damage reduction (so can tank) good defence and endgame scaling DPS. Octavia has strong CC and DPS, but can also turn everyone invisible and boost damage.

If you want to kill the most enemies in the shortest time then you want Saryn in most tilesets or Mesa in open worlds. Saryn can kill enemies through walls, but in the open Mesa is more direct and longer range (for most builds). Equinox can too, but is a little harder to get your head round and a nightmare to grind from the boss that drops her.

If you just want to never die (a valid tactic) then Rhino is a cheap early game tank that excels at Index and low energy sorties because he's extremely efficient. Inaros with Adaptation is basically unkillable but expensive. Revenant's Mesmer Skin abilities can absorb any damage. Nidus is immortal once he has his stacks up.

If you want to dive into the fray and break heads you want Valkyr or Wukong - both are extremely tough melee brawlers.

All these frames rely on killing enemies fast, but in defence missions sometimes that isn't enough. When your enemies can take our your defence objective in a couple of shots you need more than just killing them fast. Frames like Frost, Khora and Gara can block their progress.

This game is all about loot, and Nekros, Hydroid and Khora can help you get more of it. This is critical in survival especially, when you need enemies to drop more life support. I can last about twice as long in Kuva Survival with Khora than I can with Saryn.

All these frames suck at certain bosses, because their abilities don't effect those bosses. For Eidolon hunting especially you want to boost your weapons instead. Mirage, Chroma and Volt excel there - Mirage can do slightly more damage, but needs to set herself on fire to do so, so most folks prefer Chroma.

Support isn't as useful any more, but still has its place. Trinity can heal or give loads of energy, but can't really do both in the same build (as you need negative duration for the latter). Oberon can heal the team while controlling an area.

Certain missions (well, Spy) require stealth. Ivara is my favourite there (she's good for hunting and fishing too) but Loki is fast and Wukong's cloud can blitz most vaults.

CC used to be important, particularly for very high levels, but now DPS scales and lots of frames do a mix of damage and CC it's kind of pointless. Avoid Nyx and Vauban for now, but they might come back as the game shifts.

If you're looking for a frame to invest in you should think of a set, not a single frame. You want a DPS, a tank, a looter, a weapon-booster and a defence at a minimum. You're also probably still going to need Rhino for Index, which is the best way to get credits.

They just shoot you from outside.... XD Unless your fighting infested.
