novalery
Abandon ship! Abandon ship! Abandon ship! We’re doom. everything is on fire. Oh how i hate everything. everything is dark and gloomy. oh how cruel this world could be. hehehe..., Somehow it feels like the subforum is filled with this negatively titled thread that are mostly answered with people trying to counter them. Anyway here is some off-topic thing that happened to me few days ago: I just went to a 3 days and 4 nights tour with my friends and several dozens random people. There are some slip-ups by the tour agent (which are mostly understandable due to the nature of the festival event that goes on at that moment). Within this main group there is this group of “madams” that kept on complaining about this and that and since we’re on the tour whatsapp group together the wathsapp chat and the consequence tour briefings become rather sour. What makes it worse is that when most of us try to separate ourselves from the “madams” group, it became even more problematic because its suppose to be a single group tour. And obviously they also complain about that too. the funny thing is, that in the end of our tour the “madams” sends this rather long massage of disappointment while most of the others send a thank you massages to the tour agent on the group chat. One example of things that happens: To avoid traffic jam and road reroute the bus have to park 1km away from the lodging. Now before you said that is too far to walk: 1. its not. 2. its a tour to go to a mountainous area where you are expected to hike, walk around a huge lake, and stuff. How is 1km walking downslope be hard. anyway.. the tour agent first send us a dropped pin of the parking location, then few minutes later a screenshot of a satellite view of the dropped pin location showing the traffic jam, and again a few minutes after that a photo of the location. All of this are of the exact same place. Around a half of a dozen of us manage to get there without problem (me included). Most of the others are around 100 meters away on the opposite side of the road waiting while complaining that the bus is not there. Why are they there? You might wonder. Lets just say its due to some bad influence from a certain someone... seriously though the dropped pin is not even on that side of the road. How could you missed that?? so eventually we (the bus with me an others that are already there) have to go to where they are to pick them up while hoping that the bus wont get stuck on the traffic jam, then go back to the agreed dropped pin location. the complains that went out during that 100m bus ride were: “the tour agent kept changing the meeting location”, ”its too far”, And so on and so on. Once we get back to the agreed dropped pin location however, one of them said: “well that was a short journey, we could’ve walk here” in all, it was a fun tour if you don’t look at the whatsapp group chat an listen to the “madams” group complain during the briefing. we went to see the sunrises, joint the festival, hike up a lookout location, eat some local food, and hang out with my friends. How about you guys? Any holidays stories to share? Edited August 7, 2019 by novalery

I ran into one in a store the other day, where a deaf-mute person works stocking shelves. She kept demand help, talking very rudely and not even describing what she was actually looking for, despite several people trying to help her. I got tired of hearing her talk down to people, got involved and treated her the same way she'd been treating others "well, nobody is going to be able to help someone who can't even figure out how describe what she is looking for, that's just common sense", "this store is the size of a bedroom (it would have to be a huge bedroom but she would not dare to contradict me for fear that others would think her poor 😁 ), everything is on display, if you aren't seeing it, then either it's not here or you need glasses", eventually she spluttered enough to describe what she was looking for so I supplied the word, made a show of glancing around and not seeing it, and telling her what stores to visit. When the woman was cashing out with her back to us, I turned to the stock girl who was looking very distressed, and signed - one of the few things I know how to sign - "thank you" and her face lit up just a little. I made small talk with the cashier before leaving. But enough about the Karens, tell us more about the festival and the lake you visited.

With 3 stages few hundreds meters away from another (if there is a forth or more, then i never went there). If i’m not mistaken 1 of them only had night show while the others had both day and night shows. The nights were not below zero celcius cold, but we still hang out near a bone fire while enjoying the music. initially my small group went to the lake in the morning (trying to get that natural untouched background for photos) but the park that took care the lake was still closed when we get there. So we (with the main group) went there in the afternoon instead. It wasn’t too packed and thankfully visitors are decent enough to take care of their garbage. Sounds like a great time (except for the cold nights... I'm from the tropics... For us 20°C is cold). I don't really see how people could go to something like that and still be all grumpy all the time. Ahh well it takes all types to make the world go around. 😉
