  • is this Gun good?
    • sure, it will Kill Enemies fine. if you're looking for an Assault Rifle it will serve fine. fills a Raw Damage + Status role, in the Assault Rifles.
    • however Telos Boltor is kinda situated to be better via featuring good Crits and still plenty of Status (more than enough to debuff Enemies or w/e).

So just get a Telos Boltor then?

perhaps. super high Status doesn't generally have much application, going all in on it and sacrificing other Stats to get it is rarely a net gain. generally all a Weapon needs is 'some' Status, not 'maximum Status'.
Shotgun type Weapons being an odd exception, to that.

Yes... But if you genuinely like The Boltor Prime it actually does perform more or less simarly to Telos Boltor.

Use which ever you have mods you make work....

You don't even need High Voltage.... well... I mean... you will later on but for Level 110 and below its not needed

I wouldn't say I like the boltor prime, especially having messed with it, and straight status just doesnt do it for me. I was wanting to know I there was a way to make it work, unaware that the Telos Boltor was just better. Haing grwbbed that, I know its way better. Thanks all for the suggestions and swaying me to a better weapon.

100% SC with high viral and high puncture. Either this, or the same but with Cryo Rounds and Infected Clip replaced with Split Chamber and Vig Armaments. Puncture and Viral should take care of lightly-armoured targets and those two plus rad of heavies.

Why did you weigh The viral damage  higher ? Wouldn't it be better to weigh Radiation Higher ?

iirc viral is more effective than rad against alloy-armoured enemies on high levels, and it also affects grineer units across the board. btw, speaking of damage types, which one cracks a nox helmet faster - puncture or impact?

Well... yes... The Viral Effect not the Actual Viral Damage Itself....

you can replace Cryo Rounds and Infected clip with Stormbringer and Hellfire.... you will still proc Viral but gain the bonus 75% Damage effectiveness of Radiation against Alloy Armor.

Yes it does but with the amount of armor enemies have the effect is barely noticeable....

Since you already have Piercing Caliber you're already getting 50% bonus against Ferrite Armor.... which I think is good if you're not using corrosive...

I'll be frank - I never really understood how armour filters damage to deduced health and whether viral circumvents armour to some extent. I've seen the armour scaling/damage reduction equations but it was never clear to me whether rad amplifies the damage dealt through alloy armour, or whether somehow alloy armour deduces health in a separate equation after receiving rad to itself. Meanwhile the Corpus health/shields distinction is so clear-cut that toxin damage to any corpus unit is easily precalculable on any level.
