Unbearably slow updates?

I have a problem that started on the last hotfix, and is also affecting this one.  They are taking extraordinarly long to download.  My launcher has been sitting at "checking for updates" for a half hour now.  On the last hotfix, it took me 3 hours for it to *start* downloading.  I know for a fact it's not my internet connection, as I can load up warframe.com pretty much instantly, and pinging multiple other public websites likewise shows now issues.  After finally getting the last hotifix to download, I was having no connection issues with the game itself.  It is *only* with the warframe loader and getting the download to actually download.  The previous hotfix wasn't that big either if I remember correctly, definitily under 50mb, so certainly should not have taken that long, especially considering I downloaded a 5 gig zip file prior to starting warframe, and that only took a few minutes to download, not hours.

Any help in resolving this would be appreciated.  Watching the launcher for 30 minutes while waiting for a less than 25mb download is aggravating.

The problem is most likely your internet connection.

But you could try uninstalling and reinstalling

From your description, something between you and the server is chugging or malfunctioning. You can wait and see if it resolves itself or look for the path from your router to the server and see were the problem is coming from. Or try the basic "problem solvers" like restarting your modem, checking cables...

No dice with the basics.  What's weird is it is only with the content update download for the game itself.  Every other aspect of the launcher (downloading it's own update, starting it up, getting into game) and the game itself (logging in, playing) has no issues.  It only hangs for 5 to 10 minutes on the "checking for updates" part.  Once it actually does start to download, the download roars quite fast... it is oddly specific in just hanging on the "checking for" stage for ungodly amounts of time.

I had something similar.  I fixed it by deleting the folder and reinstalling.

I ran into something similar, just now.  My download was doing like 13kb/s or some such, and after maybe 45 minutes I started to get frustrated. (I am just impatient, like that.)

So, anyways, I clicked the options thing in the game launcher (gear-like icon, upper right hand corner - I'm playing on pc), and noticed that I had "Bulk Download" checked, but "Aggressive Download" was not checked. I enabled the aggressive download option, and my download speed jumped up to 2mb/s. It's not done, yet, but it's a lot further along now... (but, also, it has slowed down to 1mb/s ... I guess I cannot have everything...)
