Ember Augment changes and possibly a bug

With the recent augment changes i noticed something odd when playing around with embers augments. and i saw a certain mod called Flash accelerant and thought Armor stripping + a frame that has trouble with armor and does more damage when it is off? The mod description doesn't say anything about armor stripping and i am sure this is just a bug on DE's part. i like to entertain the idea of Ember being a really good frame against Grineer.

And this is why i post here instead of bugs. i want to ask you guys if this augment got changed to reduce armor instead of boosting fire damage.

1. Would you be happy with the change and perhaps play ember more?

2. If you dont like the change. why is that?

The armor reduction was effected by power strength perhaps at 200% power strength it would remove 100% of the armor i find the cost to be fine and the ability is in a AoE.

Dont forget the base ability does make the enemy weaker to fire damage and with her recent 1 augment change it might make her quite powerful.

Eh. It would be a step in the right direction for making Ember usable good again but on its own it's not really enough since there are already other methods to remove enemy armor and other frames that can do the same while doing other things better than Ember.

I do agree that there will be better frames doing her job at killing things. But the ability to remove 100% of armor and give the enemy weakness to fire will make her great and crowd killing around ember. As cloned flesh has a 25% weakness to fire she will be a grineer killing machine aslong as you use her augments 2 armor strip if that were to be properly added.

She will however still have slight trouble with corpus

Problems I have with Ember. I'm using Saryn as a comparator since she's far better than what Ember was when Ember was still good, yet they still nerfed Ember and buffed Saryn:

  • Both Ember's base health and armor are weaker than Saryn
  • Ember's abilities were nerfed into the ground because she was too good at clearing low level mobs
    • Saryn scales infinitely due to natural stripping of enemy armor and damage that scales as long as Spores exist somewhere
  • Ember has no scability with her powers, and her Fireball has been more useless than the rest of her kit
    • You can use every ability on Saryn with purpose, especially her 1
    • You can have 300% power strength on Ember and barely kill enemies, while you can have standard strength on Saryn and wipe out entire maps with no problem (trust me on this one, I've got a friend who's in love with Ember's look and gave her a DPS build, but running Saryn on everything standard easily beat it out)
  • Ember has no self-survivability
    • Saryn has stuns, diversions, and even a self-healing augment to keep her alive
  • Ember has no range; her 3 doesn't change at all with range and her 4 even reduces its range over time
    • Saryn has no range limit as long as there are enemies to spread to
  • Ember's base elemental type is horrible against anything that isn't Infested. And if you go up against Infested, you'll never have enough energy to use your powers
    • Even Saryn can use her Spores to easily kill Infested since it costs so little to cast one, and it can just keep spreading. Sad thing is that Saryn can destroy all factions pretty easily including the only faction Ember would be good against

Thing is, scaling abilities like what you're seeing in that picture are supposed to be built-in to the frame, not something you have to include as a mod. Augments are supposed to provide additional attributes to change up playstyle, not correct a broken kit
