Supra is out the window since Soma came out, it's outperformed by the Soma in every respect. but between flux and the Soma, it's kinda hard to say. Flux is a pretty amazing weapon, especially against infested, but it's never gonna compete with the Soma DPS-wise. they both work pretty well on Loki. if you have the Hush mod, you can make them silent, if that's the kind of Loki you play.

Soma as its easier to craft out of all three.

Also does near enough DPS to supra.

the reason why Soma outperforms the Supra is because of its crit chance and multiplier. a modded Soma can have 87.5% crit chance and 8.4x multiplier. in english, that's 7 out of 8 shots will crit, and crit shots will do 84 damage BEFORE you count in serration or multishot. whereas the supra has almost non-existent crit chance(2.5%).

Soma with Damage mod, Multishot mod, 3 crit mods, faction mod, AP mod (Last mod is free):

Average bullet damage per shot: 489

Average AP damage per shot: 294

Average total damage per shot: 783

Supra: Full rainbow (freeze, fire, electric, AP) , + faction mod, damage mod, and multishot mod for max damage per shot:

Average bullet damage per shot: 232

Average AP damage per shot: 139

Average elemental damage (freeze, fire, electric combined) per shot: 626

Average total damage per shot: 997

Supra would outperform the Soma in damage per shot and also DPS, but only if it wasn't for AP being the damage type that matters for high level enemies. Even if other elements get more effective against certain enemies in the future, a rainbow build will never be as effective as a build for a specific facton.

The high base damage of the Soma allows for way more effective builds against specific factions. Combine that with higher accuracy and hitscan and you will see that the Soma is definitely the superior gun.

The Soma was designed to be the newest & bestest shiny, so it is the top performer for the time being.  We'll see what happens in the long term.

They say that they're not going to nerf it...that instead they will give it a Mastery Level.  That leads me to wonder what will happen to those who have bought or made it, and are under the Mastery Level required to use it.  I don't see the community responding well to having their toys taken away.  So what will probably happen is they'll have to discontinue the Soma, and re-issue it under another name (Soma Prime/Vandan/Wraith).  So that means they will probably release it with tweaked stats...and we'll have THAT controversy to deal with.

What we're really looking at is the beginnings of a tiered weapon system.  I just hope that they look at the cost & effort to build a particular weapon when considering where it rates in those tiers.

Unfortunately, Soma atm, because its crit rate is just insane.

Why the hell would you call crit damage something that can occur more than 87% of the time ? It sounds plain stupid. It's just normal damage artificially increased.

Crits should remain crits, ie being rare or at least uncommon (50% max modded for a slow ROF weapon like sniper/bow)
