How do I hide chat during missions

Question

So, how can I hide/remove the chat popups during especially during missions? Every time there's a new post it pops up interfering with half of the screen.  I have disabled everything I can think of in options_chat without success. Would have inserted a pic but don't know howto easily from URL. It happens constantly during open or solo missions where it's really annoying and affecting game play.

Thank you in advance.

just go into options...chat....then uncheck the chats you want no part of (i think it's something like that). i just have the clan tab most of the time because i'm the only one in my clan...then if i want to get up a party, i'll add the tab for recruiting, etc. i just add the ones i need at the time and when that's over i go back to just my clan tab

Chat is not designed to be removed or hide. Trolling if you call it.

The only way for you is to open a chat with a random person, then stay on that tab. Since you are not talking to that random person, the chat will never popup.

This one is the way 😜

Also you can shrink your whole chat window and it's very very unintrusive.

P.S.  The only thing that really covers my vision and prevents me to play how I want to is the emo lotus on the flydolon mission. She literally covers half of the screen and I can't see where I have to jump or go.

Squad tab should be active during missions. If you have a squad, it will show you what your squadmates are saying, which is in most cases relevant to the mission and worth reading. If you do not have squadmates, the chat will have no reason to "pop up". Being a part of a large clan does not interfere with this.

Thank you all, when I'm in open I will definitely want to read my team messages but playing solo alliance/clan messages are just in the way... can read them later. Will shrinking the window actually help, in missions it's an overlay. How to please like you would explain to a 4 year old 😄

uh, yeah, Squad Chat should cover your needs, as either it's something useful/important (probably), or nobody says anything and Chat just doesn't come up?

though if you're in Solo then i think you'd have to open a PM if all other Chat Tabs are highly active, yes.
