"Protosomid" comes from the Greek "proto-" (pre-) + "som(a)" (body) + "-id" (-like). "Like a not-quite-there body", in rough translation. The broken "quills" on it look like arrowtails and I'm so I'm drawn to conclude that it is a failed/stunted Ivara (compare the quills with the arrows on her upper arm) or some other warframe (perhaps an entirely unknown one) that turned into a "miscarriage" in the foundry (thanks Ob- I mean Ordis).

How the devil did you pass secondary-school biology classes without basic medical Greek?

It's an instead ancient head and arm that's just chilling there. Hence, it's not attached to the body.

Granted, but Ancients don't have those quills on them.

I memorised what I needed, and promptly forgot it after it wasnt needed?

By that logic, please explain what failed warframe inspired the Provvok shoulder guard? Grineer heads don't have those cleavers in them.

That's like saying the Provvok shoulder guard is from a failed clone that grew a axe in its face.

This is the most overthinking I've seen in a while.

It's just an ancient head.

Because ancient greek is no longer taught in biology classes today....because it's ancient.

It's really only tied to medical studies for doctors...

Good luck explaining a potential situation to the paramedics over the phone.

In a world where you would overthink and overexplain things, yes, I believe that is how you would have to survive.

For the rest of us mere mortals, a simple description during the triage is good enough for paramedics.

I don't have to say "there's pain in the apex of my myocardia" for them to understand that my heart hurts.

More like the queens "knighting" a random lancer for fun.

Uhh, wrong again. It's a scavenged helmet. The hatchet is the cause of death of the original wearer. Maybe read descriptions instead of wild overthinking.

Who the hek learns ancient Greek of all things? Isn't it latin that Medicine students learn?

The shoulder guard is just the infested version of the provvok guard.

Dead enemy with the weapons used to kill said enemy still in enemy. So for provvok it was a grineer killed by a cleaver then the cleaver was left in to 'strike fear into the grineer with the armor'. The nightwave armor is just a infested killed with arrows and made into armor to look cool.

Warframe is deep, but not ancient-greek-language-medical-degree level deep.

It's just some infested head and other part.

The Helminth we're using is nothing like the enemy infestation anyways. At least if Nidus is full infested It's safe to say that the two infestations are different not just intention wise but in appearances too.

I think medical first responders prefer that people speak in plain and clear language. Paramedics don't have backgrounds in academia anyway.

Thats how the ancient was killed. With arrows to the head. That's why some of the arrows are broken.
