Firing beam weapons at enemies' heads changes weapon sound

Good morning DE!

I have noticed of late, when using beam weapons like the Glaxion Vandal or my Gaze kit-gun as examples, that whenever I hit an enemy's head with any beam weapon, the sound file for automatic rifles kicks in, instead of the continuous beam sound each gun produces on normal body shots.  When I stop shooting, and start up again, the beam firing sound returns (until I hit a headshot), and it repeats all over again.
