Frame Fighter, and integrating it into use.

Was playing this earlier today.
2 Thoughts.

New players leave the moment their normal movement/attack bindings do nothing.
Really needs an on screen display of your keybindings,
and something to tell people defaults can be changed.
Maybe during frame selection.. just something to tell you what keys to hit for now,
ideally a button to get you to the keybindings for frame fighter.

More practiced players see this happening currently, and can't do anything to help people
who haven't figured that out, and there's no way to 'gg' or communicate/emote when in randoms
(except rapid squatting)

-Something to show commands/how to re-bind
-A way to emote and show thanks

Wait, people still play that minigame?

If it engaged players to do so better with some UI tweaks, they might.
(speaking of which, this thread would be better off in UI threads, now that I think of it.)

I think they've been waiting to hear a response from it, and never did..
because everyone bailed as soon as they couldn't punch, and didn't know why.
That's all it takes for a player (even myself at launch) to say, "I'll have to figure it out later."

Some other obvious problems..

Titania's ability doesn't work.
Grabs do damage but don't grab.
Saryn's ability is hilariously ineffective.
Crouch and all three punches are the same uppercut.
There's no dash forward, only a roll.
I wish roll was roll, and not just double forward..

But what I find most important, is that people aren't
making it to the point of even seeing these problems.

When I saw a Fighting Game being put in here,
in the middle of the combat rework..
I was Absolutely Stoked!
Yes, DE. Yes. Tasty combat that meets somewhere between
what we have now, and a head to head fighter.

This is Not a feature I saw and thought, "I'll come back to this later."

That only occurred when I was in the middle of getting whooped on all clumsy by a rando,
not being able to ask what the buttons are,
and learning too late that I required menuing into button remapping to continue on my set up.

I LOVE the idea of Frame Fighter. Love it. Flat out, love it.
Please, do not let the execution languish as it is.

Good luck with getting DE to focus on any form of quality control for more obscure features when they're brutally going full throttle on big updates. Their mentality of put it in & don't come back to it until significantly later is really one of the worst qualities they embody these days. I wish I were as naive & bright-eyed when it comes to DE, but that just isn't the case anymore. Frame Fighter is an afterthought to them, as much as I hate to say that about any ingame feature in general, but they need a good boot in the rear in order to be motivated these days.

frame fighter could have been cool, but instead falls dead like conclave, lunaro and so much more.

this is because they never really gave many f's about these to begin with and it shows...

and additionally, the reason people aren't taking the time to see the problems is because there is so much that is broken about it on a fundamental level that nobody really wants to bother.

plus people already have.  search for "framefighter bug' or "is broken" and you'll be sure to see dozens of year old threads about how the game mode is trash and what's wrong with it.

You're very right there.

I'm keen to mention to them that I would really enjoy Frame Fighter getting some attention.
..and I'm also trying to not aggressively bold and italicize a "badly needed," into that sentence.

The community's collective, "nope," could have been a collective, "..not yet, but once it's done.."

It's one of the (too many) metaphoric 'plates', that I did not want to just stop spinning.
...let alone be dropped and broken forever.

The reason I care so much for these devs and this game,
is that the title has not been left ignored and bugged out, forgotten on steam.
We're hitting a tipping point where the game is not in line with the game..
meaning, Warframe is alive, but also this Frankenstein's monster of dead s--
stitched together, with electric shocks of golden baubles simulating control and movement.

I see it as more than that.. far more. Have for many years.

The clutter and decay is the only reason this game would be declared dead.
I want to present it in a way that isn't hostile, panicked, or urgent..
but mindful, appreciative, hopeful, and patient.
New content is great and all, but the new content isn't why I play..
the mundane bug fixes every week is why I play.
Does DE know that? I hope they do.
