Agent_Nine
Just an idea on how I think the unnamed sentient arm cannon could work. First, quick question: Has anyone ever played Custom Robo? (I promise Im going somewhere with this) In Custom Robo, there are weapons called "Illegal Weapons". The idea is that these were built outside of regulation and are basically overpowered to the extremes. Most of the time, they're just direct upgrades to other weapons. But the ones that aren't upgrades... Rear-Front Gun: Rounds fly from behind Amun Gun: Shoots two wide lasers / Fires two 5-directional beams ARS-G04 Gun: Rounds expand than stop. X-Laser: Rounds fire left and right, than converge on their target (if they miss, it forms an X-shaped trail) Rahu I / II / III: Fires 3 blasts that split into 6 homing blasts each Ridiculous, right? These weapons make no sense on paper, and in practice their situational at best / dumb at worst. The only reason these are even viable is because of their high damage output (in a game where you have 1000 health, they do about 150 per hit). Except for one. The Crystal Strike. A firing mechanism that functions something like this gun would make the Arm Cannon really stand out. Considering when you will get the cannon in-game, It's supposed to be a final weapon of sorts, like how the Umbra frame/mods, and the Ballas Blade are the current "Final Weapons" (at the time of making this post). I think this gun should be something like an "Infinity +1 Sword". A weapon that acts as a super-powered item, but the downside is that you won't really have anything to use it on afterwards unless you do a new game+. But because Warframe is clearly gonna have more after "The New War", this thing can't be just an EvErYtHiNg DiEs!1! type gun. It would have to be something more along the lines of "You got this far in the game, but have you used something like this before!?" Here's how I think it might work The projectiles themselves would be pretty big. About 3/4 times the size of an Arca-Plasmor projectiles. This weapon would also have innate Tau damage, because this weapon may or may not be part of a bigger sentient enemy (some old concept art suggests it, but it might not end up being one in the release), so it makes logical sense that Tau damage would be applied. The projectiles would each deal about 150 base damage each, have 1m (enemy) punch-through*, and an explosion of 200 damage (with the natural A.O.E fallout) Fire: First, the gun begins charging for up to 1.5 seconds 0-0.5 seconds: The gun is fired once 0.5-1 seconds: The gun is fired twice 1-1.5 seconds: The gun is fired three times The gun launches 5 bullets <see above> times in a shotgun-like spread, with an accuracy of about 0. The bullets travel for 15 meters, before they stop moving for 2 seconds. The bullets all fly at roughly where the crosshair was aimed at the time of firing each spread, and has a 15 degree homing property similar to the Cyanex. Each projectile stops once they either hit an enemy or structure Alt-Fire: First, the gun begins charging for 2 seconds If the trigger is released before it's fully charged, nothing happens and the gun won't consume any ammo. 1 big projectile is fired, travels at about 5m second, and has infinite (enemy) punch-through (it still explodes when it hits level geometry) The big projectile explodes after traveling 40m, or hitting a wall. The explosion releases all 15 projectiles at completely random angles. The explosion itself rag-dolls anyone in the blast and knocks down players. These 15 projectiles have a 40 degree homing property, but don't have the punch-through that the normal projectiles do. So, what do you think? Any good? (XBOX)GearsMatrix301
Now I just want a new Custom Robo game for the Switch. Had Arena for the DS and unlocking the illegal robos and final boss as playable character was awesome.
VotumPrime
I feel like they scrapped the Sentient Arm Cannon weapons in exchange for the Archwing Weapons being usable in regular missions now.

They literally said it’s going to be used in new war.
